Ive been looking for awhile since I need new tires, and ive been debating on buying the TSW Nurburings, and I love the TSWs in gunmetal on Black SHOs, but im not sure I care enough to spend $1300 on them. One of my wheels does need some curb rash fixed, so I was debating on have them all powder coated a high gloss gunmetal color. Been trying to find pics to see if anybody else has done this, and cant find any.

Or is anybody good with photoshop? lol

i think thats a great idea!

check out the premachrome exchange website, and look at their 'black' permachrome examples.  i know they have them for the MKS wheel.  to me the color is more like a gunmetal clearcoat than black.

it should probably give you a good idea of what a gunmetal paint job would look lke on the flower power wheels  ;D.

That sounds yummy - gun metal OEMs on a black SHO.

Once the weather gets a little warmer here in Ohio I plan on plasti dipping the wheels and chrome with anthracite colored dip.  Looks similar to gun metal but has some metal flake in it.

Anthracite is pretty much the color I was looking at doing. My SHOEI helmet for my motorcycle is that color too. Just figured more people would understand gunmetal. lol

I like the permachrome, but I have a feeling as soon as they aren't spotless, they will just look black, and I don't want to do black on black.

Maybe I should try the plastidip first to see if I like it, before I spend a couple hundred on powder coating. lol

That the route I'm going as well. The gunmetal was too light for my taste. The anthracite is dark, but doesn't look black on black. I plan on 5 coats of glossifier as well.

I had anthracite Team Dynamics wheels on my 05.  Very nice color, pretty much goes with anything.

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

yea, i wouldn't do the black premachrome either (i think its too expensive).  i just mentioned it to see if they have examples of the SHO wheels done in blkperma because the color looks more like a deep gunmetal grey with gloss to me...

I must be the only guy on here that still likes the bright wheels over the black.  Oh well.
