Considering tuning my ride. In Washington state, premium fuel is 92 octane. So, my question is, do I have to run a tune for 91 octane?

I would not run a 93 octane tune with 92 octane gasoline.  Ask our Ecoboost tuners if they will do a 92 for you.  If not, use the 91.  A lot of guys run 91 and it's a fine tune.

Running premium fuel will improve performance even in the stock form without a tune.  If you look at the SHO ads on TV, in the small print, it says the best performance is achieved with premium fuel.

I put Premium Fuel in everytime. It's just that in Washington, 92 octane is premium. We don't have 93.

I should be receiving tune this or next week and will be tuned off 92 ( in wa as well). I believed unleashed does individual tunes so he will adjust your tune to get the most out of what you have

I agree with Dave, for reasons that follow.

Here's the logic and what makes me wonder why a tune for 1 octane point....It won't hurt of course... just wondering.
Since the posted octane level is by law a plus or minus 2 octane point number you could be running 91 when you pumped 93... that's why i agree with Dave.

But if you tune to 92 doesn't the same problem occur unless of course the tunes actually have ranges in the programming?... in which event why not a 91 tune?  Just wondering.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like Unleashed is a little more "in tune" with the customers (No pun intended)
