With only the LMS/corsa cat back exhaust newly installed...
The truck actually feels like it pulls a little harder thru the mid range speeds...
Like 30-70mph..

I didn't think there was any noticeable HP gain with only cat back??
I could be nuts....

Maybe you are pressing the go-pedal harder to hear the new sweet symphony from the engine? Or it is actually a bit more powerful?

Corsa and LMS claim 10-15 hp gain on SHO  catback . I would expect the same for the XSport .

Did you check whp and wtq with torque before install?

bigmoneycloser

I did check, but have had shitty weather so didn't really have anything to compare too except the seat of my pants...
If they say 10-15, I would say its legit....feels great.. Sounds great... Bring on the DP's....

I don't think so, even when I returned my car to stock in the past it was definitely peppier.

BMC you're pulling our legs right? You *really* weren't expecting any gains in power?? :o  I've never installed an exhaust or even part of an exhaust on a turbo car ( that's prolly more than 20 turbo cars I'm talking about) and had it NOT make extra often dramatic power! Techinically the 'stage 1' of my exhaust is catback, judging by my experienced seat of the pants dyno I'd say that system netted 20-30 HP. the way the revs climb faster is even more dramatic.   I'm expecting another 25 when I install the DP'S tomorrow after work.  Hint, theres pics of em finished in another thread on this fine forum ;)

Honestly, I'm not much of a car guy. Was always more into bikes. And from some of the threads I read, I thought adding the cat back alone was more like just adding the a "slip-on" exhaust on a bike... Mostly nice sound. LMS did say 10-15 HP gains, but I figured it would be less than that and not enough to notice...
I was way off.. And this is my first turbo vehicle too.. So I am learning as I go..
I wish I had the skill set and time to learn hands on but that is not the case..
So I'm just handing over the cash and enjoying all the upgrades...lol

And the down pipes look great....

Great reports!  Did anyone get their tune adjusted specifically for the addition of the catback?

No need to retune for catback.

I think I'm going to go POOF....again.

No need to retune for catback.
Understood, it's not "needed"..... My question is if a better gain can be had if a tune is adjusted for the reduced backpressure.  LMS ususally tunes/adjusts for the mods it offers.

So I still wonder if anyone with corsa or LMS/corsa catbacks has even tried to get a tune adjustment for this mod?

LMS told me no need for a new tune for just catback. But definitely for the downpipes..

bigmoney:
When I put on my catbacks & CAI really didn't noticed a lot more than good sound, but when added the downers giving a full 2 1/2" all the way could really tell the difference. Still can't figure out why Ford on their downers had those big lengths that were skrunched in a lot narrower than needed to be.

So the downpipes may be the key to getting the most from our catbacks!... Some objective data would be good still.
