I am running the 91 octane map from Livernois and I am sooooo close to dropping the hammer on the Alky kit.  I already bought the 3 bar sensor for the intake so I was wondering can I install it now? Or do I need to get a special tune for it? Especially since VX1 looks dead for now.

You need to be tuned for it. 

As above said, you must have tune for it. Your car will run like s*** without.
