New tune

I installed LMS tune 4+ few weeks back. Haven't been able to make it to the track.

But I stood on it a couple times for a quarter mile run armed with OBD adapter. Car redline and shut off a couple times. Traction control was off by the way. Turned TCS back on. This time wheel hop and when it got close to redline I backed down. So my quarter times and 0-60 were slower compared when I ran it stock!

Figured I would give up, and try it at the track so I can really step on it tip it breaks. So at this point, the tune is not not working for "racing". But great on the street.

Oh, the transmission wouldn't  shift after the it redline and cut off. Got stuck in 1st gear. I ended up just slow rolling a bit then it seemed to work ok. But the occasional hard shift now. And now, since running it hard I can now hear the blow off valve where I couldn't hear it before. So is that good?

I would contact LMS and express your issues. To hear the blow offs isn't abnormal.

Did you use the Stage 4 tune ?What rpm are you calling redline?

I have not experienced those symptoms - definitely contact them.   I can floor it and keep it floored - simple - no redlining "shut off", no stuck in first gear...etc...

Used 4 + tune. Rpm ran over 7000.

The car hitting past redline was my biggest fear as initially when I glimpsed at at it seemed car rpm had maxed out. But that was too fast as I keeping eyes on road. But it did go over 7k. After that I backed off so car would shift and rpm would be in safe range. Hence the horrible times.

But compared with stock run I could feel car getting to 100 mph faster than before.

Does the MyCal 4+ tune alter the speed at which the rev limiter kicks in?  I don't think it should.  Redline is supposed to be around 6,250 if I recall.  Left in drive, mine shifts right around that RPM.  On a few occasions, when using manual mode, I have been late in pulling the paddle and it has hit the rev limiter.  That is not a good experience but better than hitting 7000, I would imagine.

I was just out running a couple tests.  Even with the TC off, at 20 or so, when I nailed it and it downed to first, it wanted to hop a little.  First to second really pulled!  I won't be doing any 20 MPH launches so I'm not too worried.  We just have so much power now that that dang granny tries to keep us in line.  I also just loaded the tune so it probably has a little learning to do.  I always watch for shifts.  Mine shifts fine but I always watch that it shifts between 6000 and 6500.

Drove car again today. It sits most of time and the shifting pattern is strange or changed. Sometimes the shifts are smooth as glass. Other times, 1-2 shift 2-3 shifts can be hard and loud.

Also, while cruising if I decelerate then try to speed up again as if in traffic seems transmission slips and not engaging. Takes a second or 2 for it to catch up.

Left message for Anthony at LMS so waiting for callback and to discuss. Will I need to do some data logging to help diagnose? If so, how long do I need to collect data? Or can I just do. A couple of those hi speed runs and that will be enough?

I got nervous when I noticed mine shifting at 6250 rpm. I noticed most 0 to 60s on youtube for 2010s they seem to shift just before 6. Seems smoother then mine.

They don't really do data logging with MyCal..... but they can check and adjust your tune.  Anthony should connect you with an actual tuner.  I don't know about the slow-down-catch-up slipping part, but the actual shifting in 4+ will have to be relearned over a few days by the ECU.    The differences you notice affecting the shift otherwise are likely due to carrying the boost all the way to the shift-point (factory tapers off before) and likely a modified shift-point algorithm.  The shifts should soften a bit with the learning.

I think I would have $hit my pants if my engine went over 7k and still didn't hit the Rev limiter. That limiter is there for a reason. Hope it gets fixed for you.

With a new tune a lot of one-time incorrect gauge readings have been reported as the ECU and transmission module are relearning... It is possible the engine did not over-rev.. don't know, wasn't there...But I have just been on the phone directly with a tuner (thanks Dave!!) for LMS for about an hour on other issues... so I asked...and he relates they remove the speed limiter (your SHO, at least if it's a '13 is governed at 130mph), and adjust shift-point and boost duration as I said before, but they don't change the shutdown safety parameters of the ECU

I notice the earlier 93v6 tune for 2013 SHO I was using, shifted around 6150 rpm.  The 93v7 I've been using shifts around 6350 rpm.  I haven't noticed any shifting or ill effects from this though.

Part of my driving habits have been to drive the car as a regular grocery getter. This is so the car can learn how to shift. I jumped on it a couple times. Drove in bumper to bumper traffic. All scenarios were driven so the edu can learn and have a broad range of shifting patterns to put into place. But seems its learning and acting upon it is slow.

With the TC on or off, I still get wheel hop. Even got it in the 2-3 shifts.

Not sure if this is related but after I initially installed tune, I started having some weird things. While driving, ALL of the electronics would shut off. All gauges would cycle as they do as when first starting car. And occasionally get the cross traffic system fault. It seems to clear once car is turned off. But it comes back. Could this be related to tune?

I was thinking of removing tune then taking to dealer to trouble shoot. But if its the tune thats causing it, they will need that to diagnose.

Dxint1...
It does seem like a couple of unusual things.  If you have aftermarket wheels and tires there might be some factors for the wheel hop there.. but. I'd flash back to stock to see if the events continue after a learning period first, then either way talk to LMS to see if a mod or just a new copy of the tune might help (what they think) and go to the dealer after that to exclude a system fault in hardware or software.  Just how I would approach it.
