I got spanked. Unfortunately for me, I told him to get the hit, at a 30 mph roll, and it was ugly. He pulled BUS'S on me, and what makes this even worse. ITS MY BROTHER! We get back to his house a little later, and i tell him i want the 'Hit' next time because it was hard to tell when he got in it, til he was into boost. REGARDLESS.....I would like a tune, and then see how this 'minivan' does.

Bummer man!  Get that tune on.

Those cars are roll race champions. They pull very hard up until about 120. I'd be surprised if a tune really helped you that much if you guys are going to go again from a roll. Talk him into a dig race ;-)

Jeeze....common sense please.  Get it tuned and run him in the 1/8 mile from a dead stop.  Different outcome guaranteed.  Lol

Mazdaspeed 3 are supposed to run around 14 sec at around 100mph (that is with a good launch but trap speed is not affected by launching at all).
Stock Flex EB should run about 14.3 at about 97mph no launch issue guaranteed.
I have a Lincoln MKT EB 2010 which I never raced when stock, but with just stage 4+ tune, that's it, I ran 13.3 at 103mph... So, from a roll, you should be able to beat him slightly, from a dig, he will have to bend over!

Yes i knew how fast his car was, and but i did not think his 30-100 was that fast. I had more faith in the EB. Yes a tune is in the works.Hopefully sooner than later

I have a tuned SHO PP and raced a speed3 with an intake upgrade.  I just inched away from him from a roll. 

I wonder if the AWD on the SHO and FLEX becomes a disadvantage when racing from a roll compared to a dead stop?

I can say I've been the proud owner of both the Speed3 and a SHO.  I loved that little Mazda. I traded it because my kids got too big and there was zero room in the back seat. Otherwise, I probably would have kept it!!

Don't get me wrong, I love my SHO too!! Totally different cars. I wish I could have kept them both!

It's hard to tell for me what was faster. My butt dyno told me my Speed3 was faster than my SHO.

Love that first shot with all the red.  I thought pretty hard about the 3 before I got the SHO.  No regrets!

When racing a car with a much smaller powertrain loss percentage, it most certainly does.

Stock versus stock the SHO is faster, the numbers prove that. I would say that with the same mods applied to each platform the same holds true. Maybe the big difference is at the end of the day one person has a luxury car and the other has a warmed over econobox.

Stock for stock from a dig. Yes. I'll post a video of my sho with an intake and a tune vs my buddy's 93 octane (can tuned) speed 3. I'm fully expecting him to hand me my ass from a 40 roll.
