Here's my illustrious automotive history...

1980 Honda Prelude - beater I used and abused for many years
1988 Mustang GT - eventually became a drag race car. 10.32 was best time many moons ago.  Carbureted with lots of nitrous and caged at end.
1989 Taurus SHO - black on gray.  Tranny blew up at 230,xxx miles and was the end of this awesome car.  14.9 @ 98 best time.
1992 Mustang LX 5.0 - street car. 12.54 was best time.  Beautiful car that I will always miss.
1993 Taurus SHO - black on gray, probably my favorite car I have owned. 14.9 @ 93. Hit guard rail at 230,xxx miles and sold to friend.  Still running last I heard.
1996 Chevy 1500 6.5 turbo diesel - family truck and used to tow the 1988 GT
1995 Contour SE v6 - was an auto. nice otherwise
1999 Dodge Ram 1500 - 5.2 base model with tow pack. was family truck and used to tow the 1988 GT
1999 VW Jetta tdi - shared work car. Great fuel mileage.  Terrible car.
2000 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0 liter Supercab Off Road - leased it and didn't want to turn back in.  Would like another some day.
2002 Nissan Sentra specV - heavily, heavily modified.  EVERYTHING possible was modded.
1990 Nissan 240sx - was a beater, but very fun to drive
1998 Oldsmobile Aurora - nicer to own and drive than you would think
2003 F250 XLT Supercab 4x4 6.0 Powerstroke - 13.9 in quarter and my second favorite vehicle that I've owned
2007 Explorer XLT v8 4x4 - also much nicer to own than you'd think.  very competent and good power with the 3v 4.6
--2008 Honda Fit Sport - manual, mildly modified, was wife's commuter.  Still own and now a toy getting lots of mods soon.  190,xxx miles and going strong
--1990 Mustang LX 5.0 - heavily modified street car.  Original paint, interior, etc, but every mechanical part upgraded. 532whp.  Needs a new home.
2008 F150 SuperCrew 5.4 - should probably still own, but couldn't get passed the poor power and fuel mileage of the 5.4 even after programmed and bolt on's.
2006 Crown Vic - Interceptor, 3.73's, cobra diff, programmed, Mustang GT wheels, etc. Nice car with full civilian pack.
--2013 Lincoln MKS Ecoboost - reason I'm here at EBPF.
--2017 VW Golf Wolfsburg - Wife's new commuter car.  Little 1.8 turbo runs good and we love hatchbacks. Hoping it's better than last VW.

Edited to add my current shopping list possibilities...
Honda Civic Type-R
F150 5.0 SuperCrew
Ram 1500 Hemi
Beater truck

Those are my current thoughts for next on the list, but as you can tell by my history, it could be something else entirely.

Over time I have found I'm generally happiest with Ford or Honda products.  I need to remember that better when I'm car shopping.  LOL

Currently trying to justify the price of a 2018 F150 5.0.  The '18 5.0 is an absolute BEAST of an engine.  Read up on it if you haven't.  12.5:1 compression.  Makes over 80whp more than the '17 on a chassis dyno.  Ford is WAY underrating them from the factory to get people to opt for the EB motors.

Happy to fly under the radar for now.  They continue to discontinue naturally aspirated engines (like the 3.5 in the Edge), so do what you have to do, quietly, LOL.

This is true ^  when I 1st hit the meth,  I could beat out 2015 5.0 GT's at the track by 2 tens or 3 even with them getting a good launch.  However i *tried* to troll a 2018 near the infamous FORD dealership .. The 2018 keeps up with me easily.. we seemed about even.  The TQ profile seems different for the 18' revision of the engine ..  could be tune related ..

Uhhhh....just to clarify here.  You autocrossed a 1992 Buick Century Custom???

lol, yeah man, I did.  I always wanted to race, even when I was barely old enough to be allowed on the go-karts at the mini-golf place where I grew up.  I was so proud of myself because I figured out how to take a line through the whole go-kart course without lifting off the gas.  Which was difficult through one section.  Nobody taught me how.  So when my girlfriend in high school saw an ad in the newspaper about being able to race your own car, I was so excited I thought it was fake, lol.  I thought "There's no way you can race real cars."  So I called and they assured me that autocross was in fact a real thing.  I would have driven ANY car, I just wanted to race, so damn bad.

The first race I went to, I drove grandma's '92 Buick Century Custom.  This was in the keys, so that course was a little different layout than how it's usually done on the main land.  There are no huge, wide-open parking lots, so it was on a back road off of the main highway.  Check out the link for one example.
http://www.ericudell.com/evscc/loop-road/  The autocross I went to started off in a straight line, then a slalom before the first corner.  The opening straight included a timed 1/8th mile, so when you finished you got an 1/8th mile ET and an overall lap time.  I was 17, and 2 of the older crew took me under their wing to teach me how to drive.  One was a 60 something year old guy named Dick who drove a 2002 Corvette Z06.  He saw I was way excited to be racing and asked if I wanted to sit shotgun while he took a lap, in his car.  So I could get a feel for the course.  I didn't know it at the time but, Dick was not the type of guy who bought the Z06 for bragging rights, he was an actual driver.  And That first lap of a high speed autocross course in the passenger seat of a Z06, with a real driver at the wheel was terrifying.  In a good way lol.  After the 1/8th mile drag section I thought he forgot about the slalom because we were carrying so much speed.  I thought it was physically impossible to slow down in time.  Nope.  He got on the brakes so hard it threw me into the seatbelt.  He went through the slalom at a speed that I wouldn't have thought you could do.  After finishing the lap and coming back to the start/finish, I got out with my knees shaking.  It was that awesome.  The other guy who taught me about driving was a guy named Dean.  He was about 50 and was a driving instructor at a Porsche racing school.  If anyone is interested in Autocross, I HIGHLY recommend checking out the Ecurie Vitesse Sports Car Club and an event they do every year, called the Bay Bottom Crawl.  They get all kinds of cool cars to show up.
