Shifting issue

I was wondering if there is a way to reset the shift points. In D it will try to shift to 3rd and rev to about 5K then engine cuts off. When in sport mode it will get to 5K then shift hey hard. I tried to reset PCM by unhooking neg terminal and connecting net wire to positive terminal for full drain. This didn't work.   An I get local dealer to reflash. Please help if u can

Very odd that it cuts off at 5K, that is a bit low I think.  5500-5900 is more in the OEM range, I want to say.  But yes the rev limit can be raised with a tune.  Will  the dealer do it?  Doubtful.  You can get an SCT turning device and do it yourself (maybe even with Forscan?), but a custom tune is a better way to go.

Any issues?  Codes stored in the PCM?  Codes may not trigger a check engine light.

How many miles on your SHO?  Trans fluid exchanged recently?  Level & condition checked?

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

has 67K miles. Pulled code P0607 this AM which is Powertrain alert. Engine going limp or shutting off is a symptom. I was in the middle of restoring the stock tune and the tuner crashed. Sent it back for repair which was corrupt software. Tried to put the stock tune file I saved to PC back on tuner but it failed to restore on the ECM. So my only option seems to be having a dealer reflash the PCM. Im just looking for any method to clear it completely back to stock.

What tuning software are you using?

If you PM me your SCT device serial number and strategy I could try to send you a stock file but if you were using SCT and had them repair the device and got it back and tried to load a stock tune and couldn't I'm sure they would try the same thing.

But it sounds like you have a lot of problems going on and I'm guessing there is more to the story.

Did you have a 3 bar tune? Did you put the 2 bar sensor back in? The details in this thread are SO vague it's really hard to say what you have going on...I'm interested to see the details come out.

it was a Diablosport trinity. I am returning it for a refund because Im pissed it jacked my ECM up. It crashed right in the middle of restoring stock tune. No 3 bar only other mod I have is a CAI. Was first time I ever tried tuning. Car ran fine until I used the trinity

Yeah not a very popular tuning device for this platform ...well I hope you do get your refund on a used device...I know you feel it messed up your car but they will likely say otherwise as I'm sure they didn't sell something was wasn't tested previously

yeah they are going to refund do to the fact that the software was corrupt on the unit. They repaired it and sent it back so I could try to get stock tune back on car but it seems lke that file was corrupt also. I spoke with their TS and they said return wasn't a problem. I guess I will use that money to get my PCM reflashed and maybe bye a SCT tuner lol. How is the live wire?

The livewire is nice and many people here use it but they are a bit pricy at 599 but it's touchscreen and is nice if you plan to use it as a gauge solution...the x4 also has a configurable display for gauges and is 399

I can sell either of those being an authorized sct dealer

I really want the gauge display that's why I bought the trinity. Paid just a little less then $599 for it. Heard a lot of good stuff about SCT though, more then diablo for the Sho application that is

Finally declaring yourself as a vendor, AJP?  LOL!

Diablo devices have had issues over the years with the Ecoboost, and some of the tuners using them have made the situation worse, unfortunately.

Tried & true tuners are Livernois (LME or LMS) and Unleashed.  Both are vendors on here, if datalogging is your thing tho, Unleashed might be the way to go, Torrie uses the SCT tuner, among others.

But I was thinking it would be cool to maybe have a tuning tech thread where people could ask tune specific questions and I could try and answer...I mean I guess I already do that a times but maybe like a specific thread

Not much to it really, just a formal step we need to take if you sell stuff via this forum.  So we will set you up your own vendor area, where you can advertise your goods/services, answer questions specifically related to your "offerings", etc.  As for the Ask A Tuner, good idea, we can do that if you want, although we already have the General Tuning section.  We can add a subsection there, maybe?
