It is with heavy heart learning yesterday that one of my fellow police officers with my agency, was killed, along with his brother, mother, and father, in a horrific vehicle crash while in Ireland.
Ironically, they travelled there for a separate funeral of a family member.
Steve was a fellow car enthusiast, who enjoyed racing and modifying cars, and was very much involved in the car scene. He participated in two law enforcement based racing clubs that volunteered a large portion of their off duty time to helping those in need, particularly children.
Those were/are "Beat the Heat" & "In The Line of Duty".
Speaking of children, Steve leaves behind two beautiful daughters that very much loved him, despite the relationship challenges he endured with their mother.
Here's our agencies official press release that was released just this morning:

This despite dealing with death all too often in my line of work. Steve was an outstanding individual, who was so down to earth and was always helpful to every and anyone who needed it. He never thought twice about it, and always immediately sprung into action.
Please, say a prayer for Steve and his family who were killed, so their transition above is effortless. As well as a prayer for those they left behind. Particularly his two daughters.
He will be sorely missed and I myself will miss all his comradarie at the shows we did together, and at the race track. Thank you.
