Widest tire on Stock 20", 265/40?

I've currently got the stock 19" which runs a 255/45-19 and just picked up a set of factory 20's that I'll be switching over to after they're painted.  I have a hard time going with a more narrow tire than is currently on so what is the widest that folks are running on the stock 20?  I ran through some tire calculators and the 265/40 appears to be closer in rolling diameter than the 245/45 is.  Thoughts?

First question is how are you running 255/4-20 on 1" rims?

Typo, fixed it since it apparently rendered the rest of the paragraph incomprehensible.  Good catch.

I think the widest you can go on stock rims is 255.

I actually went with a 255/35, yes its short but car low and it gives me a lil more gear. Plus its the Hankook v12 which is known for a soft sidewall so it still rides well.
Wanted a 255/40 but it was slim pickens... next time I will be going 255-265/40 as long as there are options.

Yeah, I was just looking at 255/40.  A few manufacturers but $$$.  Might be the way to go though.  Seems to be almost dead on size-wise.

I have 275x40x20 (8.5 wide wheels) they fit a stock ride height. The 8.0wide stock wheel will fit the 275x40x20 but there is a dip in the middle tire tread.
