Nope was curious if it would only operate in fwd mode.  Pure experimenting..

Welp that was fun!

1- it works~!  Powered down car pulled fuse.  turn on get ''check awd' warning... drive.  All power is in the front only.
2- it retards the initial power i think(disappointing).   a soft launch of 1800rpm while rolling into the power yielded a dull sound and dull acceleration.  in awd mode it is MUCH quicker to 2nd gear.  probably protecting itself which makes sense.
3- it makes a whole lot of smoke in 1st and 2nd and about halfway through 3rd.  If the serious meth tuned folks did this i assume you'd burn rubber up to stalling in somewhere in 4th.

verdict .. neat trick!, but kinda not useful outside of wowing the BK crowd by accident.

cheers!

Maybe a good way to warm up drag slicks before a run on a private/rented track.

I thought about this... HARD...

It is only a 10 amp fuse.
in **THEORY** you could rig a setup for a remote fuse off a relay. And have that toggle next you your meth switch.

Issue i forsee is I am willing to bet ''enabling it'' after the power is in and the can bus has booted will probably not work and even be ''bad'' to the system.

But.. if you power cycle with it ''off'' then do your burn out... then power cycle with it ''on'' you would be good.  But it would be slow in fast lineups likes 8's or busy 1/4 tracks.

doable .. awkward .. but doable.

hmmm for the lovernois folks i'd suggest trying at the event!  they wont have rushed lineups!  warmed tires might help somone.

Would it?  The question is, will the car "fix" itself without the cycling of the ignition?  If you can flip a switch to shut down as you roll up to do burn out(while car running), do burn out, then flip it back on, will it re-engage awd?..

I like your idea about a remote fuse or switch..  I wonder if there is a way to do the mod under the car?  Meaning find the wires that actually control the power distribution at the trans/ptu, put your relay there and a resistor so the car thinks it is still feeding power and does not flash the error code..?
