Smoking MKS

Week ago car started to smoke from tail pipes changed plugs and coils today same problem any ideas.

More than likely the turbos telling you they no longer want to live and committed turbo suicide ...maybe a bad injector...inhale some of the fumes and see how it smells

What color is the smoke? any visible oil leaks by the rear turbo piping? Z

As much as a smart ass as AJP is he is correct here... take smell... if it's white and smell like fuel it's probably an injector...

2010 164k it smells like oily fuel mix pulled a p301 code and p2097 I was wondering if it was a stuck injector or 02 sensor thanks for the reply.

I would change out your 02 sensors especially if there all original,especially at 164K.

Check Bank 2 rear passenger side injector by firewall for any leaks. Z

do you think its worth the $120 for the dealer to run a diagnostic.

I would do a compression,power balance test.  Z

new coils and plugs will try what you suggested and will report back with results.

I think so, as long as they intend to pinpoint an issue with power balance/fuel injectors.  Are you planning to do the work yourself based on their diagnostic?  Fuel injector and valve cover gasket are the leading suspects at this point.  Can you tell us the maintenance history?  Lots of services due/past due at this mileage.

I got the car fax and it was good regular oil changes at dealer car was running from Tn to Ark alot hence the high mileage i intend to do the work myself.It seems like the #1 cylinder might be the culprit by the codes i got.I agree it seems like a stuck open injector.Thanks for the reply.

Ok here we go took the car into the dealer #3 cylinder has lower compression than the other five.The fuel injectors are good and all functioning so now it is motor time i need one 2010 mks so if anyone has one out there please let me know.They said mine has to many miles on it to rebuild.The 8th on vin is T i have found a couple of engines but they are telling me only this year will fit could someone confirm this for me or am i getting the run around from them Thanks.

On the SHO, you can fit 2013+ engines on 2010-12 cars with only a couple of sensors & such needing to be brought over.  I don't see why the case would be any different for an MKS.  MKS to MKS, that is.  SHO to MKS, I dunno what differences there might be, but shouldn't be major?

There telling me harness computer etc don't know if this is true or not.  I thought an engine was an engine the vins are the same so i don't see why it wouldn't fit.
