Wife sent me this picture of the Explorer parked by her while she was at work. Pretty bold of the MF'er to do this in broad daylight. They have surveillance cameras also  I'm thinking the splined lugs saved our SHO but who knows could just be luck

That sucks, though they may have just been looking for explorer rims for some reason. I hate that people are so shitty and do stuff like that.

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

I use these:

The hex size is different from OEM, but since I have a PP, I don't have a spare tire anyway.  No need to remove them on the road.

Yup, both are 1/2 x 20" studs. I run 20x8.5 AMRs on the SHO as well, I have not tried splined lugs on the OEM wheels as I sold those before I even got the car lol.

Hopefully someone can chime in that has done it on stockers.

That sucks.  Had that happen to rental car while I was in Miami (at the Hilton Airport parking lot).  At least they put it on blocks, as they did my rental, instead of dropping it on the ground.

Anyways, have a general question for the group....would those Gator Grip type sockets work on the splined lug nuts?  Since it is supposed to grip irregular shapes.  Guess it would if a pin would slide into the spline/groove.  I haven't used nor have either of these items, just curious.

I fully realize that ANY security lug nut can be removed and we are counting on 'easier targets' available for the scum to pick on.
2011 SHO non-PP, Ingot Silver, 2013 fender vents, all stock (for now).
Future: Tune, 3-bar, new plugs.  Catted DP and exhaust someday.

Security Lugs are more of less like locking your front door to your house. Yes someone can still get in but why waste the time when the neighbor doesn't lock theirs.
