Hey so it will be years before I do any power mods but my mind still wonders what's going on reading the forum's....
How's the e85 going?
stock we can't get enough fuel also is anyone doing anything to get over 800hp Ive been watching smurfinwrx and his sick gtr so I looked up what they are doing to go fast there compression is 9 instead of 10 and he's making 1000 on e85 400 more then on 91 curious if 85 really has that capacity over gas to not knock or if his 91 tune just isn't aggressive?
Gtr also have a mechanical pump they are running on the drive why not by there setup and convert to fit the Ecoboost.
If we're to use three electric pumps in the tank would the mechanical pump bottle neck the system.
Doing catless downpipes will I start shooting flames?
His gtr is also using motec ecu if that's what it takes I will probably be going to them for ecu support.

GTR's are a standard low pressure fuel injection system, so they have nearly limitless options for getting more fuel into the engine.

As for us ecoboost guys running a larger lift pump to help "overdrive" the HPFP, this has been shown to help. In the end through the HPFP will still be the limiting factor in the system. (Limiting in the sense that we can source more powerful electric pumps, and even have larger injector options, but I am still unaware of any kind of HPFP upgrade)

I am sure someone could come up with a creative solution besides an AUX system but the performance market for the 3.5 Eco is just not big enough to warrant someone to invest time and money to figure out.

Anyone know if without a tune that colder plugs will give any performance? Plan on at least making sure the plugs are properly gapped next time I have the car in the garage next month.

Without a tune, there is almost nothing you can do that will increase the power of these cars. The factory computer limits the power output through various methods of the engine even in stock form.

My E85 tune is going wonderfully....

17 PSI and 22+ degrees of timing up top.

I just need a FMIC to corral these IAT2 temps.

I've seen pretty stout knock resistance in 100 degree ambient with IAT2 over 180.

I consider myself AJP's official tune torture tester.

I will let you know if/when we run out of fuel.

Comparing the GTR to the SHO is apples and oranges and I highly doubt a stock 3.5 will live at 800 HP, at least not very long.

You are a long way away from running out of fuel or needing standalone ECM support.

Nice! I thought hksmedia sho is doing 800hp at the crank
How much power are you seeing?
The steps are pretty much the same you need a lot of gas and air to make power before turbos you needed displacement. Just because out cars have hpfp doesn't mean we have to use it but good to use it for as long as we can you need a way to send gas into the cylinders with enough atomization fuel/air.
With have high compression makes the big numbers harder to hit until knock. But also without using a standalone ecu there are more hoops to jump thru.
Not saying I know everything just stiring the conversation...
Suck squirt squish bang blow
Then you need all the parts to handle all the stress.

Fair enough, we're all here to learn.

BPD's SHO that you are referring to is a fully built beauty custom made by LME, everything has been strengthened to deal with his power addiction.

I'm confused why you are waiting years to mod when you can enjoy a tune right now, bolt ons aren't needed. It might make your thinking problem worse, lol, but at least you will be enjoying the car that much more before you really start emptying your wallet.

Power wise, take a look at AJP's dyno, I think I'm running a little more boost and a 4 or 5 degrees timing over his 93 tune.

It is a beast with just the E85 tune.

Gjkrisa

Not turning yet because my Ford service department expressed that if something broke like leaking oil or turbo and saw I had a tune that chances are it's not going to be covered so making sure my Taurus is not going to have issues. I'm away from home for 4 weeks home for 1.
It's the only car out of three that that she knows how to drive comfortably. And to mod the other vehicles going to be at least $2000.
But going to build a megasqurt for the 01 impreza to hold me over next time I'm out of work.

Unless one were to leave the tune on when taking it in they exaggerate their abilities greatly.

I've read on here and articles that these ECU's record when you have messed with them. Is that not true?... I'm not sure my wallet wants to know though

I read that Ford has ways to tell how many times a new calibration has been flashed to the PCM, but not WHAT was flashed.

Well with a 2016 and no updates why would there be any flashes?
