Anyone ever had a transmission go out on the SHO? How did it start off before it finally died? In the last two days I noticed twice that my transmission feels like its slipping in 1st gear on takeoff or under 5 mph takeoff. First time I noticed it the car did not get a chance to warm up and it was very cold out, I was taking a right turn from the stop and when I gave it a bit of gas the car felt very sluggish and it felt like the clutch(on a manual car) is slipping but then all of a sudden it just went back to normal and car took off. The second time this morning I was slowing down to take a left turn and as I slowed down to about 5 mph the road was clear for me to turn but the car would not move when I gave it gas and then a second later it just dropped into gear and took off. Are these symptoms of the transmission going bad or could it be something with my tune? I guess I will have to let Torrie know about it and see what he tells me. I had the tune on the car for less than a month but this is the first two times this happened so I am thinking it's probably not the tune. Oh and I also did a WOT pull just to see if there is any slipping or shifting issues but everything seems to be working fine, weird!
Have you checked your fluid level? Condition of the fluid? Tried to replicate the issue in stock tune?

Have not done any of what you asked. I will have to check the fluid, might be time for a transmission flush since its at 56k miles I guess.
try the flush first but i had a major issue w/ tranny slipping. yours sounds similar. dealer ran a tsb for it made it lots. lots worst. but have read where it fixed some. if you do & get worst mine turned out to be the tranny speed sensors, there's 2 of them on tranny. there should be a thread on here about my issues, but try the maintenance 1st.

understood thanks!
If there's a bump or lurch at the low speed before it takes off, there is a TSB 11-5-6 (http://motofinity.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/tsb11-05-06.pdf) for that. Also a Transmission Range Sensor TSB 10-21-2 (http://motofinity.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/tsb11-05-06.pdf). If that doesn't fix it, next up would be replacement of the TSS and OSS sensors mval mentioned.

Sounds like this is what's happening with my car. I will check the fluid level first and if that's not the problem I might go back to stock and take it in if it keeps happening. Only problem is they will probably want to duplicate the issue which will be hard to do and they will not do a thing about it. If I go back to stock tune do I need to re-gap my plugs from .030? (seems like it would be a lot of work just to have to do it again once I load the tune). I know I can drive around with the 170* t-stat and I doubt they will know it's not the stock one.
Mine does this too....has also got stuck in 2nd gear twice, wouldn't shift up or down. Had to pull over and turn the car off and restart it.
I have not looked into it yet with the dealer but I am going to soon ....starting with the TSB's mentioned here

How many miles does yours have? I wonder if this starts around the same time (50-60k miles)

I noticed first at around 50-60,000 kms ....but I am also the second owner so I can't say without a doubt it didn't happen earlier than 40,000 kms
Was it you, that had their shifting dialed back ?

Yes just the 1st gear, it had the shutter on WOT shift which I thought was wheelspin/hop.

For the "short" duration they have the car, I wouldn't worry about it. Car will run a little richer, which is OK, better than leaner :)

Wondering if the tune cured your TSB issue, and now back at stock (?) level you are feeling it.
Rich
My car is 52k miles and I recently had an issue arise when I stomp on it from a stop or just rolling, the car will go all the way to redline, hit the fuel cutoff, and drops to around 4k rpm before it shifts to second. It's weird, my car is still all stock

I did not have this issue when my car was stock tho. Maybe this wont keep happening i need to check fluid and just drive it and see what happens. It did it this morning on the way to work but on my lunch brake i drove it to get food and it drove perfectly fine. Ughhh

Sounds like the same issue. Mine would have probably revd up alot both times it happened if i stomped on it. Check fluid level like I was advised to do.
Reminds me of when Brandon(ecoboosted facebook) had his PTU go. Random shifting issues that ended with him getting his shifts softened by Torrie. Seemed to only prolong the failure happening.
Best of luck with this, hope it's something simple like TSB or speed sensor.

I will have to do the PTU fluid change also I guess just to make sure. I was quoted $109.99 does that sound about right? Seems a bit expensive since I read on here people were being charged like 60 for a flush and fill but maybe the dealer does something extra, I will have to check.

Sounds fair....I'd pay it. Price ranges have varied a bit on this. Is that a BG cleaning process?

What exactly is the bg cleaning process? I am not sure if yhats what they quoted me i will have to check
They actually "clean" it instead of just changing the fluid. Think there's a list here somewhere for dealers that provide the service.

Thanks again for your great help. Words truly can't do it justice.

LOL, thanks, Rich! I would award the trophy to the members of this forum for their non-stop inquisitiveness and helpfulness :D
Today, when I come to a stop at a light or wherever with the car In drive, the car will shake bad with the rpms bouncing, been slipping into second a couple times too. I checked the fluid. Looks pink, doesn't smell burnt, go a few white puffs of smoke when I took the dipstick out, I'm sure that's normal though. Hmmm

I have not had it happen since I made this thread lol. I checked the fluid level and it was good and looked good too.
Turns out the shaking is something fuel related. Engine running rough, white smoke out exhaust and strong fuel smell

And now it's not starting. Great start to my weekend lol

That sux! Good luck figuring it out, hopefully its an easy cheap fix.
Probably a fuel injector sticking open

No dumping fuel into the cats, they don't like it at all! These injector issues are becoming ever more common :(
It was definitely a weird issue, I thought the trans was slipping, I didn't think anything injector related until I got out of the car and smelt all the fuel. No wonder why my gas gauge dropped so much on my short errand trip today. Good thing the car is under warranty plus I have ford premium care warranty so I am getting a free tow to the dealer, and a free rental.

Hope they give you an "equivalent" vehicle and don't stick you into a sub-sub-compact.
They usually give me a full size like an edge or explorer. I just pulled the codes, got a P00C6 and P0306 cylinder 6 misfire detected, both listed as "pending faults" on my torque app

Good time to check for valve cover/spark plug well leaks also.
I'll have the dealer look into that also, along with the cats. Just went out to try and start it again, nada. On the first try, it coughed and died, second try it just kept sputtering with the starter running. The p00c6 code means that the fuel pressure is too low while cranking. I hope my dealer puts in a full set of injectors and not just one. Usually if 1 goes, the rest are soon to follow
