I've only been running with the stock airbox for a little more than one week so I imagine there's a lot more for me to learn but......for what it's worth I'm a little surprised/disappointed by what I'm seeing so far. First of all there is some very noticeable differences, just not what I'd hoped. The temp swings are much slower and somewhat smaller most of the time. In extreme conditions ....say persistent gridlock, the high temps are essentially similar. Baseline over the road I'm recording slightly higher temps 2 to 3 degrees). I think that might be from whatever variances there may be in sensor location, orientation between the two installations. The stock box is slower to rise but holds on to the higher temp longer than Airaid. I may not be very discerning but I hear no difference soundwise going from Airaid to stock and while i have not done any dyno, or 0 to 60 runs, my butt dyno feels pretty much the same. I'm now thinking for round 2, a simple way to lower heat soak and IAT, might be to install the 170 degree stat. That seams to be a win win. I'll be able to tweak the tune for the colder stat I think I read of a little more power potential, and those who have run this temp stat through the winter report plenty of heat from the heater is still available. Have to give some thought to possibly moving/extending the snorkel source to somewhere further upstream and more thermally isolated than stock....just thinking at this point.
