I can't drive ...

I've come to the conclusion I can't drive this damn car.

I grew up with RWD; it's what I know. I'm so use to blasting out and throwing hard 90 to power out into a drift.

Today I decided to jump out in front of some cars; it was straight, and then 90 left to pass median coming off perpendicular to the street. I hit the throttle, spun the wheel, and NATURALLY would have expected to just power out of it in a drift. NOOOOOO; the stupid car goes "OMG WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!" and kills the f'n throttle. Sigh; I basically did a jump out; 90 degree left brake/slide stop facing direction I wanted to go. Finally the stupid car gave me my damn throttle back.

The traction control system is really a pita--you can't have any fun with this car unless you remind yourself to turn it all off.

Correct! I wish I could turn mine all off!

Has anyone tried pulling the traction control fuse?

I know on my SS, to completely disable it I pull the TC fuse and the ABS fuse.  It will trigger a CEL/TC/ABS light (which I just have disabled in my tuning), but on the SS it disables both completely (its still present, though not as noticable if you use the TC off button).

Haven't tried that.

I have the PP; so I have button that will let me turn it all "completely off"; I just don't do it every time I get in the car LOL.

FracaSHO

Advance trac can be turned completely off while driving. Just lightly tap the brake with your left foot, then hold the button.

LMAO; I gotta try that.

I have a 2013 PP, and with the advance track truly off I have still had mine say, no no no you can't do that! Granted, I was doing some really stupid maneuvers, but it was still slightly there. There is a video on YouTube, I will try to find and post, that has a guy trying to drift with the same issue. Has anyone else had the 2013 PP with advance track off (holding button for 5 seconds) pull throttle while trying to make the rear end drift?

Which fuse is it???  I'm non PP and would love that!

Used to do it on the SRT4 and would get the Xmas tree of lights, but the odometer would stop.  LOL

From what I have read, I don't believe that there is an actual fuse to pull to override that. 4DRHTRD said something about possibly getting the SHO PP trans control module so he could have the true off advance track function. If that's possible, it could be an option for you.

Welcome to the world of technology - remember this is an AWD car and not your RWD 70's muscle car. In the future ALL cars will be required have traction control, so your power slide will be a thing of the past.

WAIT, what in the hell are you talking about? AWD? WAAAAH?

crashnburn

I know a power slide (drift) can be done with some sort of tuning or transmission control module calibration because Ford did it on their SHO commercial on the track. I think that SHO in the commercial had a re-calibrated engine tune in it also because it was chirping the tires coming off the line, and mine doesn?t do that in stock form.

I chalk that to driver experience LOL.

Maybe

Sent from a mobile, I think.

Maybe I need to get on the skid pad and see for myself. I just don't understand how it squeeled the tires off the line like that with a stock tune. I have also tried getting a slide going with advance track "true off" and it seemed like the esc or curve control was stepping in. Have you watched all commercial segments in the series for the SHO?

Yep; no idea how they do it.

I can't find a skid pad here and frankly I don't want to deal with cops in parking lot.

They already hate me because my SHO is sexier and has tinted windows LOL.
