New Turbos for the SHO
« on: September 28, 2018, 12:24:36 AM »
Information released Sept 27, 2018

Quotes
I've been doing some turbo mapping.... This is the closest thing you will see to a real turbo map for our stock turbos.... I generalized some of the load points to show them at peak HP (5200 rpms or so). Now you can see where the efficiency is.... yikes! 220000 rpms is the absolute limit of where you should run these turbos as well.

compressor flows more but is actually smaller... Trying to maximize response/flow relationship.
stock housings machined for larger compressor and turbine. Same thing ATP does.
Efficiency peak doesn't change for the most most, but the island moves higher into the areas where we use it.
Price not finalized, probably around $1,800

2007 Ford Edge SEL, Powerstop F/R Brake Kit, TXT LED 6000K Lo & Hi Beams, W16W LED Reverse Bulbs, 3BSpec 2.5w Map Lights, 5W Cree rear dome lights, 5W Cree cargo light, DTBL LED Taillights

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

Very clear improvement.  Looks to be 68% efficiency @25psi vs stock 45% @25psi.  And 25psi is A LOT.   And 70% efficiency up to 23psi vs stock 12psi.  Seeing is believing 😉

Matt at gearhead has some awesome stuff in the works, just don't expect it anytime soon. Everything is still being developed. I am really looking forward to the intercooler
