I modified my SHO engine cover so I could put it back onto the motor without rubbing against the Firestorm HPFP awhile back. Being as the heat is pretty severe in that location I decided to hold off posting to make sure there were no issues such a warping of the engine cover...
Happy to say with over 1,000 miles of driving in various conditions such as traffic in 100F temps, spirited driving, a couple 2hr plus trips the engine cover is as clean and unmarred as before the modification. I attached pictures to the post but essentially I covered the HPFP in chalk, put the engine cover back on, pulled it off to examine where the pump was touching, took a razor to the not-quite-foam material to cut out around the outlines, used reflective HVAC tape to finish it.
I know there has been quite a few people interested to know if the HPFP would play nice with the engine cover, and thus far I am pretty confident that it does with a simple adjustment.
Hope this helps answer some questions!!!
