Splash guards on a SHO?

anyone have them on their SHO?  Interested in how they would look.

I normally do put them on my vehicles, but the SHO doesn't seem to kick much dirt up on the car itself, so I never looked into them.  But then again, it's very rare that my car is out in anything but dry weather.

I was thinking about getting some, but just never followed through with it. Does anyone think they will look good or ugly on a SHO?

The ones by Weathertech would look OK, but they don't have them for the SHO...the regular flat ones...I'm neutral on them, but I don't think I would care for the look.

The molded ones from Ford would flow with the contour of the car better and would help cut down on rock chips.

Just wondered if anyone had put them on..even if it was a non-SHO Taurus.

Honestly, in my opinion they are ugly on any car. They break the flowing lines of the underside. I have taken them off every car that had them from the factory. Out here in Colorado, I never noticed a difference with them on through the snow, rain, etc. than with them off.

I have the Ford ones on mine.  They're the same material of the lower molding and I think they look ok.  The giant flower wheels still throw up a lot of stuff on the doors though.

If your primary concern is dirt/mud/rocks/etc. getting tossed up and damaging the quarters.....

Another option to consider is having the 3M Clear Guard, Or 3M Clear Bra material professionally installed.

Stuff works like a charm and you won't have the odd look(s) of any splash guards to detract from the overall appearance of your ride.

Not too mention the 3M stuff will save those quarters as well from any rubber material or other track related debris for those who race their Ecoboost's.

Just a suggestion of an alternative. Enjoy!

Great idea! I think it's a super alternative.

Mike,

How long did it take to apply it to your car? I was thinking about that myself, wondering if it was a 1-day deal or few days.

Storm, I was in & out in less than 4hrs total.

That included them doing the entire front bumper, my custom lower front chin spoiler, all of the lower side rockers (in their entirety) and then just the entire sides (of each side) on the rear valance.

I took some quick and dirty shots for ya on my phone.  It was actually kind of hard to get them to stand out in the pics.

Last one is my grill with the ebay black ford emblem.
