Well what to say 👀 I own a 2013 PP with every option I guess available! Do they all get used? Well, that's where my dilemma starts I guess! I have been looking into livernois for a tune to perk things up a bit. Liking what I've seen in the lower end tunes in a reserved way I would say.  As Sept 22 gets nearer, 5yr warranty will be up. Looking and thinking of 5 yr/48,000 ext. but $2,600 is a lot for my sense of security! Wondering if this car is tuff enough to pass on it! I know ya guys will be like "WTH" but my reason to possibly buy warranty is because I don't think I even have enough mileage on it to know if it's a lemon or not?? I'm about to turn 3,670 on my odometer! I know huh, Wth.. Love everything about the car in every aspect but being busy with work and of course, dreaded MN winters, cruise time is limited. Summers are spent in a camper for a month and a half!! Thus, hardly time to drive er because next thing you know, the damn snow is flying. I guess any input as to warranty ext, to tune or leave stock and overall opinions would be appreciated 👍🏼 Keep er tame or go for the gusto?😎

Welcome to EBPF!  Nearly brand spankin' new SHO, wow.  Well, before making a decision, get maintenance up to date.  Fluids are time OR mileage, because extended intervals like Ford says, usually spell trouble.  If the engine oil has not been changed, all the breakin metals are still circulating, which is no good.  Same for PTU/RDU.  So change ALL the fluids pronto, send samples off to Blackstone Labs or similar facility to get analyzed/verified.  Make sure all recalls are done, you can look them up for your SHO by VIN on http://owner.ford.com

More than likely you will not need to exercise any warranty for electronics/interior components.  Do check the Sync version, get it updated to the latest.  Ford may do it for free IF you have b2b warranty, or about 1/2 labor if you don't.  You can also download the latest version to a USB stick and upgrade it yourself.

Change the battery!  Get an AGM battery like the Motorcraft Tough Max 850.  Keep it on a battery tender.

Fuel could use STA-bil or similar additive to carry over during winter months.

You would probably be ok with a lower level tune so you can enjoy the shifting enhancements while still gaining power and possibly mpg.

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

BUY THE WARRANTY.

Even with low miles, time and the elements take their own toll on the various components.

Did you know you can finance the warranty outside of your load for 24mos interest free?

Hello, my 2013 is the on the other end of the scale as you're car. I have 143K on mine and it feels tight and powerful. Uses no oil, drives straight, stops great, handling is awesome.
My point is these cars are  tough, just keep up on the maintenance, change you're PTO and rear diff fluids.
Enjoy!
