Looks like a bunch of monkeys got busy changing the oil on your SHO!  Hopefully it's just a cosmetic mess that can be cleaned up ...

I just took the cap off to take the cover off and forgot to put it back on for the pics, don't worry about that  :-[

I think it was always there, a week after i got it i noticed the manifold was actually really dirty (i figured the previous owner just didn't ever clean anything so i cleaned all the caked up stuff off). After a couple days of driving it all spirited like, i noticed i could smell burning oil when i was leaving the car. so i looked again and there was a little on the manifold. Just a couple drops so i called ford and scheduled the appointment i have tuesday to take it in. Unfortunately right after i cleaned it i had a family emergency to attend to so i had to drive to NC to pick up my ex, my daughter and her other daughter. When i got back, this is what i noticed. 1500 miles. It looks like whatever is burned off the manifold, is condensing on the engine cover and making it drop on the top of the cover again. It's like my own little cycle of hell considering i'm a neat freak when it comes to my cars.

Did the dealer find a leak?  Curious because my, new to me, 2013 MKS has oil in that location as well.

Might be due to a dipstick and/or spark plug well seals.  From the looks of it, #4 and #5 at least.

Yes the black seal between the spark plug well and the valve cover had dislodged itself in the well. So what ended up happening was the well filled with oil (common on alot of fords my aviator did the same thing) to the point that it created a leak. You will know instantly once you pull the coil off. I wouldn't suggest pulling it all the way off, just enough that you can peak under it with a flash light unless you want to have to suck or soak a whole thing of oil out of there.
