SHOdded can you help identify this part.   is is the long slightly curved bar that the bumper and lower trim seems to attach to.   Which it self seems to attach via means i did not see with a quick inspection.

Is it replaceable ?

Mine is now covered in 1/32 of Rustoelum because it was so FxxXing rusty it was flaking in places..  i'd like to replace it,  and on that topic why the DFH is the Taurus so prone to rusting ???

now then .. why would the entire bar be covered in rust ?   Just abrasive paint loss from dust?

I have noticed these cars (1st gen) seem to be very susceptible to rust.. font windshield on the top, pillars, bolts and screws on the back, the bumper support, door edges?

I have found on several cars i have closely inspected (here in moist old oregon) suspicious paint bubbles in the same places..   what gives?

Only if it's car related... that includes the apparent pounding my bank account takes from my SHO addiction...
