SCT X4 vs Livewire TS

I have a SCT X4 currently which has worked well.  I am considering upgrading to the Livewire TS.  Has anyone had both and can give some feedback on pro's cons of each?

By the looks of the summarys I have seen they have the same features but the Livewire adds these:
Color 4" Touch Screen Display
Rear View Camera Input
Automatic On / Off / Sleep Mode*
Built-In Performance Calculator
Switch On-The-Fly*
User Adjustable Warning / Alerts
Improved Windshield Mount Included

*I know switch on the fly does not work for the SHO. I think the X4 also does the auto on/off based on what I have seen with mine.

The videos I have seen the Livewire has a nice screen, one of them showed 9 gauges each with min/max as well as current readout which I would like to have.

The x4 you can upload config files with the PID's you want logged if you log with just the handheld.  You can then select those PID's for the gauges to be displayed.  Does anyone know can the Livewire do the same thing?  I don't want to get the nicer display for the extra $ and find out it will not display the PID's I want...

What makes it better besides a larger screen and the unique connect/disconnect?

Can the Livewire be sent configuration files and use them to select data to display like the X4?

Here's the Bullydog version for fiat diesel trucks.

No idea if SCT will offer similar features for the ECO offerings...

That is what I was told by a dealer.  Given the way it works with the X4 it makes sense.  It is a long process and requires on/off of the ECU to unlock it and allow programming.

So I made the switch and after a week wanted to mention a few things I noticed.

  • I love the Livewire TS.  The readout is much bigger and I do not have issues reading it when wearing sunglasses.
  • Livewire if set to open guages on startup you cannot connect to computer and program it etc.  Once in guage mode it locks your computer out.  Good news is that like the X4, I left it set to go to menu by default, but opened guages, and it remembers that when you start the car.
  • guage display does not seem to same min/max data one drive to the next, seems like each time you start the car the min/max is reset.  The X4 seemed to keep the Min/Max until you told it to reset.
  • datalogging, as mentioned you have to do a couple key presses to datalog with livewire, unlike the X4 you push middle button and it is running.
  • Livewire cable is nicer for leaving the unit always installed, it has a 45* angle ont eh wire exiting the OBD2 plug
  • LCD screen, if it is warm outside the Livewire can get pretty hot sitting on dash with sun thru windshield, it can make the LCD a hair less responsive.

Now a question for livewire users.  What does the blasted button on the top right of the housing do?  I searched the internet and manual and see no reference to what it is for?
