Good afternoon,
I have read discussions on which catch can to use, how to install, what they do, etc.
What I have not seen and makes me curious is that on my car I have the black soot on the exhaust tips, which as far as I know is due to not having a catch can. When I install one, the soot should stop making it that far. But what happens to that nasty black residue that has already been in there? How do you clean it? I know I can wipe the tips clean, have done it several times on the 1k miles I have put on the car. Am talking about the soot inside the exhaust, in the intake and wherever else it might be. Will it burn away after a while? I've read meth injection will clean that, but that is something I might not get, at least not anytime soon. Is this something I should even worry about once a catch can is installed?
Thanks for the input.
