Bought a 17 Expedition for the wife and I'm very impressed with the get up and go acceleration with this heavy vehicle and I'm seriously contemplating tuning it. Of course my wife is against it but what she doesn't know about wont hurt! The independent front and rear suspension makes the ride very smooth-Ford made huge improvements from my last 04 Expedition and of course the ecoboost engine vs. the old 5.4 doesn't even come close. I will let everyone  know the difference once I install a tune vs. stock

Congratulations, and good luck with the hidden mods :D

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

Plugs (1step colder and gapped per tuner), drop in Air filter, 3bar and tune.  The 1st two are easy to play off as "tuneup" items and they take the most time to do.  The 3 bar will take less time that changing a single plug.  Tune is a plug in and watch it do it's thing.  You can easily do the 3bar and tune while she is out of house on an errand :-p  Logging is another issue, but can be done when you are out and about solo...

Welcome to the forum!  MY dad bought a 17 Navigator and loves the power for towing.

Tuning, even the AJP 87 octane, substantially improved the general drivability characteristics of my XSport. Better shifting, less hesitation/lag, better power. I have some dyno graphs in Reply #8 (see Total Power Comparison graph for OE vs tuned), if you're into heavy reading, LOL: http://www.ecoboostperformanceforum.com/index.php/topic,6919.0.html

If you do decide to keep your tune "hidden" from your better half, consider the fuel you're running. If you're currently running 87, you won't want to tune for 93 and blow yourself up when she tops off with a lower octane rating...

Honesty is the best policy, IMHO. ;) I have a "93 OCTANE" post-it label in bold black letters on my instrument cluster to remind my wife what to put in the tank on the rare occasion that she's the one filling it up.
