2013 PP front brake pad part number

My oem 2013 SHO PP pad are not noisy What noise are you guys referring to?

When replacing my pad on my 2009 GT 500, the Ford dealership parts counter offered 2 replacements, the OEM pads and then the Motorcraft pads. The OEM pads were 2x the price but a much better stopping experience. When replacing the oem pads with Motorcraft pads on my 2003 Cobra, the stopping power was degraded so much I thought something was wrong. After researching the Motorcraft vs. OEM pads, I found out that the OEM pads are high quality performance pads and the Motorcraft pad is a Value Pad which gives low dust and low performance. When I replace mine, if no other alternatives are available, I will buy the OEM pads from Ford. I have had no noise and no problems stopping so far.

Ok, has anyone figured out what the Ford part number is for the "performance" brake pads that were original equipment on the 2013 SHO PP?

My pads reached 75,000 miles recently so before my rotors got chewed up, I decided to change them with some Performance Friction pads. When changing them I immediately noticed that the replacement aftermarket pads did not have the same anti-rattle clips, but decided to go ahead with the install. Now after several days of research, I have figured out that several replacement pads do not have the anti-rattle clips riveted to the outer edges. For some odd reason Ford's part listing descriptions for the brakes are: SHO w/painted calipers (DG1Z-2001-D) & SHO w/ out painted calipers (DG1Z-2001-F). This doesn't make sense because to my knowledge, there are NO SHO cars with painted calipers. I am assuming someone somewhere at Ford misinterpreted (PP) for (painted calipers).

I have attached photos of the PP OE pads w/anti-rattle clips and photos of both models of the replacement Motorcraft pads. One set has the clips (Model ending in F) and the other set does not have the anti-rattle clips (Model ending in D).

I have verified that the Performance Friction part # 1611.20 pads do not have the anti-rattle clips as these are the pads that I installed on my car. When I drive over rough roads it sounds like a have a new rattle coming from the brakes.

Why is it that the 2013 SHO PP OEM pads have the clips and then several of the Ford and aftermarket pads do not?

Does anyone know if the (2013 SHO PP) Hawk or EBC pads have these anti rattle clips attached?

If anyone has input on this topic, it would be much appreciated because I'm scratching my head here.

I am wanting new front pads on my 2013 SHO PP also.  Would be nice to know who and what part numbers are available as I have not found a set yet.

I just spoke with a buddy of mine which is a senior tech at Ford,and the correct front performance package pads are DG1Z-2001-D if you have painted calipers,for non painted calipers the part# iS DG1Z-2001-F.hope this helps someone.

Very true Z... If you go to the parts pages I posted earlier there are separate part numbers if the caliper is black from the one that's "silver"... the black is the "painted" one... both numbers are there to compare and they are identified as to whether they are for the black or the other.

The part#DG1Z-2001-D is only a painted option to match your painted black calipers,part# DG1Z-2001-F are silver oem PP pads just like BigMac said earlier,just to clarify the painted black brake pads are for those that have painted there calipers black to [match] thanks.
