No gear oil smell yet. This has been happening for the past 10k miles. The dealer originally blamed it on tire noise. Which wasn't too far fetched as the original tires were cupped and making a lot of noise. Put new tires on about 4K miles ago and noise was separated. Luckily under warranty but getting close. I actually changed the PTU fluid thinking that may have been the issue but there was no change after the oil change.
