Hey guys! Thanks for checking in. Been a busy couple weeks.
So, the short of it is, I still have the issue. I'm not super confident in paying the dealer for additional troubleshooting, so I'm still planning to go it alone until I exhaust all troubleshooting options.
I did end up getting FORScan (why do I read foreskin every time I see that?? lol), and pulled the following codes off the BCM:
===BdyCM DTC B1182:00-08===
Code: B1182 - Tire Pressure Monitoring System
Status:
- Previously Set DTC - Not Present at Time of Request
- Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC
and
===BdyCM DTC B124D:02-8A===
Code: B124D - Tire Pressure Sensor
Additional Fault Symptom:
- General Signal Failure
Status:
- DTC Present at Time of Request
- Malfunction Indicator Lamp is On for this DTC
Module: Body Control Module
I tried clearing the codes and reprogramming, but was unsuccessful. My next step is to go through the pinpoint tests in the manual which correspond to the above codes to see where I arrive.
I did confirm with the FORScan (foreskin) developers that it is NOT possible to manually program the BCM with the TPMS sensor IDs. Evidently the IDs can be read from (but not written to) the BCM.
On the F150 forum, there's a ~550 page thread discussing FORScan changes, and one of the items listed in the master spreadsheet is a TPMS disable/enable, but the BCM address given for the F150 does not match anything I have on my Explorer Sport, so I'm not sure if I have that option.
At this point, I've basically come to accept that I will likey just need to deal with the errors and flashing lights while running my winter wheels, at least until I need to change the tires again in a few years. At the very least, it would be AWESOME if I could figure out how to disable the system through FORScan, so I don't have to deal with the blinky-blinkey, dingy-dingy.
Once I go through the pinpoint tests, I will update on my progress. If anyone has any other ideas in the meantime, let me know!
