He returned fans back to stock and they still run. Someone said something about an expansion valve causing similar symptoms. Do we have this and where would it be located?

Maybe run the stock file for a couple weeks and see if the fans come on randomly? If so, maybe there's another issue. If not, then probably still something in the custom tune.

Did you install the OEM -180- STAT correctly? Nipple(jig valve) facing up the 12:00 position ?. Z

Crap. Not to hijack the thread, but do the Reische and RAT stat have a jiggle valve as well? I don't remember from my install and didn't realize they had a required orientation.

The 170-Reische-rat-stat does not have a nipple(jig valve)and can be installed in any direction, thats the beauty of it.

The 180-stat in the other hand does employ a nipple(jig valve) and should be installed facing the 12:00 postion facing up. Z

But also I should add at this point I know it's not th tstat or installation because I just learned I can shut my car off, cycle ignition a time or too and it will read normal. I'm thinking still cts. Haven't had a chance to grab it yet. Hopefully tomorrow. And as for my fans staying on I'm leaning towards tune (returning to stock in the morning for my drive), possibly expansion valve at Evap core, maybe something to do with the cts as well, or faulty fan module.

So it's confirmed my fans turn on upon start up and stay on almost constantly when my car is tuned but my fans act normal when I return to stock. My tuner said the fans should be on to some degree which they are. They arent on full blast or nothing. I'm still thinking its something wrong with the tune but he said everything is fine. Hmmmm.
Edit:  also I might add that the fans being on is the only problem that my tune has other than that it drives and runs just fine. I monitor my PID's on my scanner.

All that for a coolant temp sensor. Replaced with new, everything is fine. Weirdly, after I changed that, and an 02 sensor that was badly needed, I got a cel after a short drive for a p1336 crankshaft sensor values not learned. I'm thinking ok great. This has to a joke. Car was stumbling at idle, just not good 😪.Reset cel and came back almost immediately. So I brought it home, relooked over everything. It was fine. Looked online and saw something about a relearn process. So after restarting car, revving higher several times, and going on another drive everything was great. After 100 miles, everything is still great. No stumble, have all my power. So I'm confused, did it relearn itself? Maybe it was a glitch? Idk. But nightmare over. For now......

Glad to hear, a lot of hair pulling, but ultimately a "simple" solution :thumb:

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!
