Colder plugs - OK for daily driver in the winter?

Are the colder plugs for the SHO ok to use on a daily driver in the Michigan winter? Will they tend to foul faster than the stock plugs? Would gapping the stock plugs smaller (like the colder plugs) be good enough?

Wouldn't worry about it.  Outside temps are not important, engine temps are.  The engine gets into closed loop very quickly, so any possible fouling will be mitigated.

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

I've used 1 and 2 heat range colder plugs on the modular 4.6L V8s in the winter, and they seemed to foul a bit faster than stock - more so with the 2 heat range colder plugs.

How often do you change plugs?  May be a concern over tens of thousands of miles, certainly not a winter's worth (for most people).  Maybe bpd will chime in with his expertise/practical experience on this issue!

It looks like a lot of members are running the SP534 reaped to 0.030", which is 1 range colder the early SHOs. I found Denso ITV22 plugs, and saw a few ppl here running them without problems. Know of any negative reports of using the ITV22 on the transverse 3.5 eb?
