Closing in on the record 2.0 stock turbo time bit by bit:

The other car there is a 2007 BMW 335i. He has top end that just won't quit!

Full run log for the night:

All runs are 93 Octane pump gas with 0 additives (-0.96 OAR), 1/4 tank of gas, spare, jack, full interior and other goodies. Using the LMS v11 93 octane Aggressive tune.

Car is running MUCH more consistently than previous trips to the track. Feeling like this is getting very close to being dialed in!

I have found that launching like everyone keeps telling me to (rolling out first) yields my worst times all around. My last run I did it the way I always used to do it with the Monte Carlo and how a lot of SHO drivers (thanks EBPF!) do it, which is power braking to max stall (around 3k rpm) and slamming it with the lights. This gets the most wheel hop (and man do I HOP) but also gets the best times, shifts and strongest pull from 1-3rd gears.

Suspension is too soft still, I am waiting on flatout's adjustment tools so I can stiffen the rear shocks more so right now my butt bounces like a stripper looking for that last dollar. I also ran with stock tire pressure (35-37psi). Also still running the CP-E intake; switching back to stock may net me another tenth or so. I am hopeful that with less bounce, tires at about 30-32psi, the stock intake box (or shielding the CP-E) and a decent DA that I will be able to cut that 13.9 I want before the end of the season.

That snorkel Velossa is working on would be a boon as well IMO.

Nice run!  You held that 335 off for a while!

Turbo cars always do best with brake boost launching.  Provided that it doesn't blow the tires off completely, you get into the meat of the power band so much quicker and eliminate the slight spool time.  That's one of the biggest reasons why turbo's and automatics are such great companions.

The most extreme vehicle I had for this was a Powerstroke SuperDuty.  Brake boosting was worth close to a second in the 1/4.  Those bigger turbos need to be pre-spooled.  It could leave at full boost (31lbs).  Best time with it was a 13.9.

:thumb:  So stock brakes were enough to brake boost?  That's a big +!

Wheel hop breaks things.  If you want to launch hard, get sticky tires. Your CV's, transmission, and differential will thank you.

Brakes hold to 3k at least, not sure how far they will go. I know the hop is awful on things, I am already running Super Sports with coil overs. Need to stiffen things up on my coils (still waiting for adjustments that seem to be taking forever to arrive in the mail) and drop the pressure in the tires. Hopefully that reduces the hop further.

Biggest thing that reduced wheel hop in my previous transverse car was aftermarket motor mounts.  We don't have that option, but I wonder if filling them would help.  I think the ST guys have seen some improvements from upgraded mounts.

Already running CP-E's stage 2 rear mount, no upgraded mount for the upper yet sadly and that does have some play. Might try the boomba rear mount which is supposedly stiffer than CP-E.
