Hi, my name is Bo. When I joined this forum in 2015, I had a 2014 Fusion Titanium with the essential mods to get the car to go. I love, love, loved that car! Unfortunately, on July 13, I was hit at a 45 degree angle on the driver's side by a fresh-off-the-lot 4-day old 2016 Honda Accord. I was travelling 35 mph and didn't see her coming. And POP! a bright white flash, sparks and antifreeze everywhere. My Fusion took a hit with a combined speed of almost 70 mph. The Accord was now a Honda Accordion. Smashed all the way to the windshield. I was dazed and hurting, (I hate having my breath knocked away). Separated ribs, neck and back soft tissue injury. Bruised head and side. But my Fusion kept me alive. She gave herself for my life. The damage to the two vehicles was like night and day. The honda had lost structural integrity to the point that the lady had a broken arm and teeth knocked out. My Fusion, not so much. Funny story; When I was being cared for by the paramedics at the scene, a sheriff and a city police officer came over and asked where I wanted it towed to. In my daze, I actually said "I'll just drive it home." The looks I got. They knew I had been knocked at that point. They both said "No, you won't be going anywhere in this". That was my first feeling of loss over my car. My B-E-A-utiful Ruby Red Fusion Titanium hotrod, gone. When the body shop looked at it, the door wells were wavy on all four doors, the door sills pushed in almost the the seat, the roof buckled, the engine cradle was shifted. And I walked away!
Now that I got the tear jerking stuff out of the way. I now have a new baby! A new 2016 Fusion Titanium AWD! Jet black exterior with a white and graphite interior. Has every option. It even has cold ac on the seats. Sunroof, Sync 3, 19" wheels with wide grippy tires. Yum yum yum.
I am now starting the mods. I had the windows tinted so far. 17% on all. Blacked out. Nothing else.
I figure I was toying with 275hp on the 2014 FWD. My target is higher with this one. Maybe 400hp? I have found through my years that the best way to not waste money is to set a monthly budget and buy one or two upgrades at a time. Here's my overall point: I would cherish all of your opinions and input as I build this future screamer. Please think of this as an Ecoboostperformanceforum project from the ground up. We have a great canvas to start. OK, what should be the very first thing to do?
