the new 350 sure seems tempting. If only dealers were not so greedy to manipulate the suggested msrp.
I bet the dealer markups go away within the next several months.  Took about a year when the GT500's came out in 07....

Just couple of years ago I was looking at a gt500, sitting at a show room with a 64K sticker. You go on Ford's website, and don't quote me exactly, but the msrp was like 46K.

Probably was the '13....the price on those went back up because it had almost 700 HP....

Lots of guys in my local Mustang club picked up the 10-12 GT500's for decent prices.

Think you have your numbers mixed up...You would almost spend that on a C/S and a 12'/13' Boss 302 when they were new....The MSRP on my GT premium 14' 40k

Even a completely stripped down 13'/14' GT500 were just shy of 60k and that would've been special order which would've been nearly impossible to do at the time...Most of them were low 60's on up to high 60's MSRP and could be had for sticker or 5k over

People are still paying well into the 50's for slightly used 13'/14's

Maybe you are thinking the 07'-12's which nobody wants anymore. Only people I see driving those are senior citizens

Well, either way, I would not pay 60K+ for a gt500, because for just slightly more, there  are other better cars to be had, even if slightly used, a year or two.

Depends on what you think is "better"......if better is destroying basically anything on the highway then there isn't much better out there...if running 11's in a stock car is better then again there isnt really anything out there that is better for 60k

Im not a gt500 fan boy but at 662hp it was the highest hp production car until the hell cat....cant really spend 60k and get anything close to 662hp

nice deal. I want a new 5.0 soooo bad but need the 4 doors.

the aftermarket is full of parts and you can get into the 10s easily.

Not that easy lol....Maybe closer to 20 grand on top of the car but that's easy I guess
Well I guess my buddies car is a one of a kind. He has basic bolt ons, nitrous, and a sticky tire. Car runs high 10s all day. Best of 10.6 but that was just once. Mostly runs in the 10.80 range.

Said he had about 4-5k in it. And we don't pay for labor. We work on our own junk.

yep one of a kind....it may not live long...but I'm sure you will say otherwise....there will be a lot to be desired on his car...his car will need a lot of parts

Your results are not common or his I mean....Good thing you work on your own "junk"....I'm assuming it's an auto...The stock drive shaft won't last nor will the converter...Both can be pretty expensive on their own and that's just parts, not labor. The stickies are helping a lot....Don't for get about the oil pump gears...They snap all the time at 600 hp...Timing cover and oil pan comes off for that...Labor is nice on that too.

And if you are spraying enough nos to put you over 600hp at the wheels then the engine may run 10's all day but not too many days...You can skimp on parts and brag about the results but it's just not impressive to look at a budget build.

I've ran 11.80 @ 131 mph on 20" street tires....You can say that the car will live long but they usually don't before they end up in the garage.

Why would I say otherwise. I don't care if it blows up tomorrow. It's not my car. Sorry I hurt your feelings that a new car can go tens without spending megabucks on it.
As for me I've got a lightning that runs 10s so I know all about having to spend on going fast. But I'm also a guy that usually buys used parts and tries to save that way. I'm not about throwing money at something to try and out do somebody else. I went down that road 20 years ago when I was street racing a lot. Now I just like to mess around and have fun. I'll let you high rollers spend the money to go fast and try to impress somebody.

Oh, you thought I was broke. I get it now. Lol. No, I try not to waste money on cars. As stated earlier I've been down that road already. Ex. I got my blower for my truck used for half what it would have costed new but I had to drop about $2500 for new aerospace front and rear brakes. Didn't mind cause I have the $ but if I can find good used parts that I need I'll buy them. Doesn't bother me at all. I'll let somebody else take the loss.

AJP turbo

I cant argue with a rich smart person that buys from the parts bin.....you have me beat
