if anyone has any info on this (20x10 wheels/275-40 tires) please let me know.

i'm seriously thinking about getting these, but i'm worried about fitment and possible transmission issues given the weight of the wheels (39 pounds)...

Stock wheels are 20x8's.

I am running a 20x10 wheel in the rear, & have for some years now, w/o any negative effects.

I am aware of only one person who ran a 20x10 in the front, but warned of rubbing issues when turning.

As far as weight goes, and it's perceived negative effects on the trans/drive train,  I'd be hard pressed to say that would be an issue, as the OEM wheels are incredibly heavy to begin with.

Any aftermarket wheel selected, will likely be lighter (even in a wider width) than the OEM setup.

I'd be most concerned about rubbing when turning,  with a 20x10 up front more than anything.

what about a 20x10 wheel with 255 40r20 tires?

that should be fine, i'm thinking w/o any necessary augmentation to the front end.

according to all websites i've searched, a 255-40 tire fits a 20x10 wheel.  i wish a 255- 45 would fit, but seems like the max width of the wheel for that tire is 9.5 inches.

a 255 40r20 is within the recommended 3% margin of change in diameter.  only down side i can see is that tire is more expensive than a 255 45r20.

I believe the 3% difference is within each other, not the factory diameter. So if they're all the same size (255/40/20) you should be good to go.

Look at how many foreign car manufacture company like the flower look, that they have a simulator look. I'm looking to get a close matching look for our Fusion, to match our SHO.

I'm sure you find it hard to believe, but I doubt you know everything.

according to 1010tires a 255 45 r20 can safely handle a max wheel width of 9.5 inches, while a 255 40r20 has a maximum of 10 inches.

a tech told me that aspect ratio becomes a concern with certain tire sizes, the taller the tire the narrower the effective 'safe' width.

Simply was asking what you were referring to when stating that 2 tires with the same section width of 255 millimeters were a different width. No biggie

Yes I'm aware that when a tire of the same width is mounted on a different width wheel then actual tire width will change after being mounted.

But...The tire's nominal width is the same....That's what the 255 is
