BoostedSHO

Hello to all. I'm new around these parts and just by doing some quick browsing around these forums I learned a lot about my SHO. In March I picked up a 2013 SHO with the Performance Package and the 402A equipment group with 30k miles. The only thing I've done to it thus far is just cosmetic, put some tints on it. But oh do I want to do some much more, just need some $$$. From the NW Suburbs in Illinois btw.

I want to do the following upgrades to it (please feel free to weigh in with any opinions and suggestions)

Peformance:
LMS Tune
Cold Air Intake
PPE Catted Down Pipes
Corsa Cat-back Exhaust

Cosmetic:
Lamin-X Tail light tints
CQ Finest
Painted Calipers
2013 SHO PP
LMS v10 93 3bar tune
MDesign CAI
NW Suburbs, IL

bpd1151

Ahhhh yes, we Illinoisian's are multiplying!

Congrats on your acquistion!

Welcome to EBPF, BoostedSHO, congrats on the new ride!  Sounds like a solid set of upgrades you've planned, looking forward to pics & blogs as you proceed :)  What was/were your previous ride(s)?  Owned a forced induction vehicle before?

Look in the Parts for Sale section, something might catch your fancy hint, hint ;)

2007 Ford Edge SEL, Powerstop F/R Brake Kit, TXT LED 6000K Lo & Hi Beams, W16W LED Reverse Bulbs, 3BSpec 2.5w Map Lights, 5W Cree rear dome lights, 5W Cree cargo light, DTBL LED Taillights

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

This is my first forced induction and AWD vehicle and man do I love it. Can't wait to get these upgrades done from all the reading I've done on the forums. I think I want to get the LMS tune and CAI first. Seems like that gives me the most bang for my buck, then I'll just request different tunes when I get the other parts. I had a 2008 Ford Fusion before this. A 2000 Ford Crown Vic before the Fusion and a 1988 Buick Regal was my first ride.

Hello from Illinois, though I am down near St. Louis now but travel up that way to visit family often. I personally would forgo the CAI and save the money by just installing a drop in K&N or AEM dryflow. 3bar tune is the place to start IMO. Maybe downpipes with it if you have the $$$ to spend.

Any particular reason you suggest not going with a CAI? I already have a K&N filter in the factory airbox. I was considering doing the 3bar tune seeing how easy it is to uninstall and reinstall because I know if you have to go back to the stock tune you will get an error code with the 3bar installed. I have an extended warranty on the vehicle and if I ever have to bring it in for service I want to flash it back to stock

There just hasn't been any significant power gains IMO from the intake. I look at HP per dollar and its not where I would start. I went from 93 3bar to meth. Down pipes fit in the mix but again low HP per dollar so I am putting them behind meth. If its in your budget do them all! I would look at the MDesign intake before you buy anything else. I went the AEM drop in dryflow and per my logs i'm not having and issue pulling the air i need. Maybe downpipes will be next for me if I feel its worth parting with the cash.

I'll have an MDesign CAI available for a pretty fair cost here soon if you're interested in one.

That MDesing CAI definitely peaked my interest. Thanks for that. I've been in touch with the guys at Livernois and I think without a CAI I lose around 10hp with the tune is what they told me in the email.

After checking it out I definitely think I'll be interested. Why are you getting rid of it?

There's tons and tons of threads, I'll let you do your own research and come to your own conclusions but I do think the MDesign is the best of the aftermarket options and it's some other circumstances causing me to get rid of it. It's out of the car, I just need to clean it up a bit and get it listed, shoot me a PM if you're interested.
