I use Forscan with my obdlink MX and I can get updates at about 30 ms...not great but better. As everyone else has mentioned Torque is great for gauges....not for logging.

Maximum resolution in Torque Pro is 1/10ths of a second.  Default is 1 second, IIRC.
1 second is worthless

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

gonna go try this out, will this change the speed of the gauges or just the log?

You know, I am not sure!  I have ignored the gauges for so long (datalogging is my primary purpose).  I'm sure the TPro wizards on here know for sure!

I have not figured out how to decrease the response time of the actual gauge. It drives me insane.

Hopefully one of these days I can master programming dash command as its much more responsive. I'm in the process of procuring a new desktop with a dual monitor setup which should help facilitate the process. It is way more involved than Torque.

Might be part of Torque's load-limiting programming so it is compatible with a wider array of devices.  Even though the display is relatively Atari-like in its' design :)

Well, changing it to the smallest interval has given me skewed results.. Mph was stuck in the log at 43.xxx for like 2 seconds then shot to 60mph.. Ahhhhhhh, so I'm gonna dial it back to every .3 seconds to see how it reacts

Just curious, but why aren't you guys using the SCT with a laptop? I know its easier to just bring up torque with a bluetooth OBD reader but if you want the most accurate data I would think you would want to use the SCT. The SCT can do a handful of PID's on the device at full speed without a laptop, so if you just want to check some times like we were talking about you wouldn't even need the laptop.

I do, I just got the torque setup to check it out. I know laptop and x4 is better. Just more of a pain for a quick log

Sounds like the OBD reader can't read fast enough?  How many PIDs are you logging at one time?  If not using an OBDLink MX, I'd definitely keep it under 15 or so.

good point. I do have it setup to log a bunch of things
