aux line in > menu > Sync - Media > System Settings > Advanced > Install Application

The version for Sync for non-MFT applications should be at least 4.4 apparently.  Another discussion on the F150 forum:

Noticed the thumb has MFT as well as sync... I assume the car has MFT?

Car does not have MFT, it has Sync with navigation.  Those are the files that the Lincoln Owners website provided for my specific car.

The third link you provided sounds like that guy is having the exact problem I am.  I'll have to dig through the threads to see if any solution is offered.
