First Official 2016 Taurus News?

Did a quick search for 2016 Taurus and found this link - http://www.chicagoautoshow.com/vehicles-on-display/2016/ford/taurus/

Looks like there will be a 2016 at the upcoming Chicago Auto Show - from the pics and description there are no changes for the 2016 model year. A few dealers also have 2016's advertised however the links to window stickers and pics are not active yet. So probably on order but not delivered? A bit disappointed that we did not see a refresh for 2016 - getting the itch for a new ride and if there is not a new SHO I may have to SETTLE for a Mustang.....

I will agree the rear visibility is s*** in these cars.  Even worse is the almost flat rear glass that doesn't shed any water off it.  So in rain/snowy conditions what little view you have his gone.

If you follow the link and read the article its a reprint of an article from Motley Fool - usually a pretty good source regarding business and investing. There have been other rumblings like this recently and the release of the new Taurus in China but not here is a bit scary for SHO fans. Who knows - maybe we can get our 4dr Ford performance fix from a rumored Fusion ST in 2017

Any news on if the Taurus is in fact going to be killed off after 2016?  I've heard it might with the Fusion being the new flagship sedan...but the Fusion is just too small for my liking.

Per one of our members, a news item implies that the Taurus will likely be axed in 2017 in the U.S., but the SHO might live on, albeit with a different configuration.  No details yet tho.

I didnt really think the fusion was much smaller...someone here posted some dimensions before...it is taller thats for sure but i thought the fusion used its space much better

A Fusion sport is more true to the SHO forum anyway.  The SHO was never meant to be a yacht.  It was a mid sized sedan to compete with the M3/M5's

Do you guys remember that Ford killed the Taurus a few years ago. 2006 I think it was. Retooled the car 500. But from public outcry, blue oval resurrected the Taurus name. With a much better product than it replaced. Nissand did the same with its Z car. Killed it off for a couple years then return it. I believe the Z sales have been doing fine. The car is much better than the one it replaced. And it's performance has spawned even more stuff. GTR's resurrection as well. Maybe Ford will do something similar.

Well Lincoln has the MKZ with a 3.0TT 400HP, they seem to be getting rid of the MKS for the new Continental. I assume without looking that the Fusion ST will be built on the MKZ so it seems likely the MKS/Taurus is going bye bye. I have my eye on the new MKZ for a future buy, or even the Continental. Which ever takes the biggest hit on resale LOL.

The MKS is not just merely dead; it's really quite sincerely dead.  Production ends in June in Chicago and Continental starts in August at Flat Rock, MI.  I will be getting either Continenal or an MKZ - but only after Livernois has a tune for the 400 hp 3.0.

I am not sure about the Taurus.
