Looks like a great start. I'd add a 3 bar MAP sensor to the list for sure. Sold by your your tuner or found online a bit cheaper, but a nice item to buy from your tuner...they are giving life of your vehicle support

From my looking around the interwebz, stainless works was the system I avoided. Some are happy, but I saw a few unhappy also. Livernois or PPE pipes would be my recommendation. I think Torrie (unleashed) has some too, pretty new and not many reviews at all.

Funny as in Raptor world Stainless works is the top dog, why I looked at them. But new platform so new start. This is stainless work not the cheaper version we are talking about?

I will look at livernoismotorsports. Trying to avoid drone so will have catted section with resonator. Any reasons why people said they disliked SS?

Added 3 bar to list. I have seen them as was not sure if gimmick yet. Just started looking at things today.

Can anyone tell me is the intercooler on the cars that good or what? I checked for upgrades and nada.

Only thing on SS that scared me...couple drone complaints.

2 bar reads a max of 14.7 psi accurately, you're going to be running into higher boost levels than that most likely. I started with a 2bar tune. 3bar felt smoother for some reason.

CAC (intercooler) seems to hold its own, of course it could be better. BPD'S 617 awhp build from Livernois uses it, and there's a couple other guys that have made custom large Front mount (fmic) ones. Zero2Sixty Motorsports actually has a system for sale. Only 2 sold, and 1 in use right now.

I looked at Zero2Sixty Motorsports and that is a horrible intercooler design. Hard edges do not make for happy flowing intercoolers from my experience. I wonder if I ping wagner to see if they would make one. They do them for Euro cars and are the best I have seen.

SS I saw some videos on where a guy had SS headers and Corsa and it droned bad. No really good independent videos I have seen on full SS yet.

I should mention it does have the "performance package". Modifying a car that is on a truck is so much fun LOL.

The SHO intercooler is pretty good.  Your concern should lie more with keeping the PCV system, turbo piping, and intercooler free of pooled oil/crud coming from the PCV system.  Check & tighten (not overtighten) clamps regularly.  Feel around hose ends to make sure there are no splits.  Drain the intercooler if you spot any buildup in there.  That sort of stuff.

Livernois/PPE downpipes are 2.5" I.D., Unleashed's offering is 3" I.D., stock is 2.25" I.D., IIRC.  Be prepared to soak the nuts/bolts thoroughly in Kroil or PB Blaster etc. prior to attempting removal, as they tend to rust into place.  Maybe replace them with good stainless steel parts instead (ARP?).  Double-gasket the flanges if needed, but use new gaskets.  The 3" downpipes might be a tight fit, but they do fit.

If you want to take a crack at the PTU, a good time to do it is when you are swapping out the downpipes, easier with the 2013+ to do so esp if it has the "package".

I am still trying to see if your intake is worth the money or drop in filter is better. I emailed and asking about flow tests you have done and I got a generic we "test answer". I asked for more specifics in regards to power shift between and never got a answer.

As for thermostat, sense you are here, why do I need to change this? I am in the process of looking why but again you chimed in so please give me the 411.

Tune wise you were on my list but the gang here seems to thing the others are better. I know on the Raptor forums you guys are number 5 on the preferred list. I still have you as a consideration but the other tune seems to offer more and is cheaper as I already have a SCT tuner because of the Raptor.

I am a newb to the SHO so I freely admit I am at the start line trying to read and search for information. So pardon if ignorance to what parts and who is better.

As for help, do you have a recommendation on a setup of catted down pipes and cat back that offers the best flow to less drone? I am still in the Stainless Works Camp just because I have their products on a different vehicle.

Can i run a 20" 8.5, with a 40mm offest  (what I have seen as standard) and a 255 /45 or bigger?

As far as tuners... LME has tuned the fastest (Crash's) and the most powerful (bpd1151's) SHO... But Torrie (Unleashed is an excellent tuner... Mike B has posted a comparison thread and has used Unleashed in his flex and now LME in his truck. We're all waiting on his impressions... The mix is pretty equal as far as which tuner is used here... Since you have the SCT already Unleashed would save $. Keep in mind that it is possible to tune well beyond engineering specs of the construction materials used in our 3.5 GDIs. So if you're going all out consider a degree of rebuild for extreme tuning. All tuners have alterations for Tstat, DPs, CAI, etc.

As far as the tranny... Both of the above tuners adjust tranny shift pressures upward of the stock pressure for more crisp shifts.

You know that heat soak is the enemy of performance. Going to a 160 or 170 degree Tstat will delay this and perhaps speed cooling. I do see lower operating temps when cruising also.  Both the above tuners adjust fan settings for a lower temp Tstat. But heat soak inevitably happens... Just cooler.

DPs will add about 12 AWHP if catted, and about 17 AWHP if non catted. This was on my SHO over about 9 BTB dyno pulls during the development of the PPE DPs.  For less work, if you are in an emissions area, catted might be simpler.  If you don't own one... Get a sensor socket to get the O2 sensors out and if possible dot the switch on a lift. Silent cruising, authoritative with brisk acelleration, and perhaps a slight drone at idle speeds at or below 650rpm.

On the dyno th DPs will improve flow in th exhaust and shift the available AWHP and TQ down to 1500-1700 rpm vs. 2000-2200 with OEM DPs.... Very noticeable increase in low end pull both on the dyno and the "butt dyno.

As far as a CAI.. In my car during the dynos above we compared the stock CAI with stock filter vs. no filter (we removed the filter box entirely so intake was directly into the "saxophone").  Hood was up and fan on the engine in all pulls. We found +/- 1to 2 AWHP difference (within software limits of error)... so get the CAI that looks the best to you and changes the turbo spooling sound to your liking.... And get one that cannot draw underhood air. Note that this data was with stock tune.... and both the tuners above may be able to improve this. IMHO any intake restriction is proximal to the filter box. It is also worth noting that several members have noted real time losses of as much as 0.1 sec in the 1/4 with AirAid which they got back the same day by reverting to stock.

I was reading through the thread this morning and apparently missed that the list was ideas in mind but not ordered.  My apologies for the mistake and to hear about the email issue.  The website has actually been replaced by a completely new much better site that is going to be launched any time now.  It is much more user friendly, modern , and complete with a vehicle specific look up as well. 

The Evenflo thermostat is beneficial to the engine along with a thermostat modified tune for many reasons.  The first most obvious reason is that the two combined will lower coolant temperatures which helps prevent heat soak.  Heat soaked engines lose power and a engine that runs above average temps all the time obviously will not last as long in the grand scheme of things.  The EcoBoost engines already create more heat from the factory which is why Ford has used a cooler thermostat than most of their engines run factory.  So adding more performance to the engine will cause it to create more heat.  Colder engine temps help stay further from detonation typically as well which makes them more friendly to added performance.

BiGMaC ever come to CA - Sac Town I owe you a beer. Post was perfect and gave me the data I needed for the modding on the power side of things. I am not looking for crazy power but I always know there is more to be had as Ford has to deal with government restrictions. As for the DP I am doing catted as I don't want to deal with check engine lights as well as sound.

For heat soak is the a large radiator upgrade yet for the cars and all aluminum? The car I did pick up has the "performance package" so not sure if this actually does have more cooling as they claim.

Now need to figure out shocks for the springs, sways, and how to convince Wagner to make a real intercooler upgrade LOL.

Yes, the "package" does significantly improve cooling, which is why bpd pioneered the mod for the 2012-2012 non-package equipped SHO's.  See the HowTo section for writeups.
