So I have now owned my 2011 taurus sho for almost a year now and am getting anxious to start putting some upgrades into it. I have been reading on the forum for some time now and am just getting into trying to figure out exactly what I am looking to do to my sho and would love to have some help in doing so. I am looking for my first few upgrades at being fixing the broken brake system that we are so lucky to have on these vehicles and the main issue I will be running into is the offset of the 20" OEM wheels are not compatible with the TCE big brake kit that some of you have been installing. I have big plans for this vehicle, and hope to have it smoking some of those big v-8's on the strip in no time  :tease:

Welcome, brewerp93, to our little community on the interwebz!  Something as simple as a 93 octane 3 bar MAP tune will awaken this sleeping hunk of metal, and will surprise many a big block runner out there.  These are the common mods for power/performance:
http://www.ecoboostperformanceforum.com/index.php/topic,808.msg7294.html#msg7294

Megan coilovers will hold the SHO to the ground, while a superior braking system like an EBC rotor/pad combo will do wonders for stopping power.  Yes, Wilwoods/TCE kits are really nice, but you can still do quite well.  Consider a 13+ brake upgrade, 13+ coolers upgrade, etc. by poring through the HOW TOs posted in this subforum:
http://www.ecoboostperformanceforum.com/index.php/board,107.0.html

And don't forget maintenance, maintenance, maintenance:
plugs, fluids, piping, etc.

Plan to do a lot of track/road course type driving?

And howz bout some pics for our consumption :D

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

brewerp93

Those were all things on my to do list, I was curious tho about raising boost levels how reliable are the bypass valves that come stock, so in other words has anyone had any leaking issues?

And I will post up some pics of it for you all to see, but I am in the process of getting one of the mesh grilles from tommy designz hopefully next week sometime. Also was trying to find some decent ground effects because I think it would make this car look like a monster with the coilovers on it.

There is so much that needs to be done I can't figure out where to begin!

As for right now this is my daily driver but definitely plan on taking it to the track in the future, I am only 22 and this is my first vehicle that is 100% mine with no help from the parents so it is my baby lol

That is the only way to do it, and good on you for making it happen!

What program/app are you using?  I use Photobook (free) for all my pics and vids.

I just started blacking aspects of the car out with plastidip initially to see how I liked it and the more I did the more I liked it lol I plan to go back through and replace most items with aftermarket parts like the grille and rims to keep the sinister look going  >:D

brewerp93

As far as rims go have any of you put on that wilwood big brake kit with the stock rims? That was another potential upgrade that I was looking into but I am a little nervous about getting spacers on the hubs..

looks tacky and goofy...I like to stay in front of cars that try to look sinister with my blinker left on and swerve to prevent them from passing me just to get a rise out of them til they do something stupid and make a fool of themselves.....I treat cars that attempt the sinister look like the dumb montecarlo intimidator #3 cars the same..Hate them stupid cars.....Intimidator....what a joke....Why would you want to intimidate anyone on the road?...I'd prefer just to get out and settle it

Wow well I wasn't necessarily expecting that response, I seem to be pretty happy with the way it looks tho sorry that you don't care for it a whole lot but I've gotten enough compliments on it that I feel confident enough to say that most other people think that it looks pretty nice as well. I actually had a mom get out of her mini van with her daughter at little Caesars and tell me "Wow that is a beautiful car" (The guy driving at his CTS next to me was very jealous)

I wouldnt take it personal,he's actually a cool dude which at times likes to have some fun and play around, honestly this is a great forum with lots of knowledgeable wealth of information on the ecoboost platform provided by awesome members.  Z
