Anyone ever try to close their door and it slams so hard you think the windows will break, just to find out the latch didn't reset itself properly?

Its happened to me about 10 times in total now, but I'm curious if I should just grease things up or if it is a start to a deeper darker issue.

They usually recommend using multi purpose grease(lithuim grease)for door latch, hood, trunk, seat tracks, and its pretty common issue, especially if you havent visited your local friendly dealer in a while.  Z

On the 2011+ Edge, the door ajar sensor tends to go bad, and you have to slam the door one or more times to get the door to latch properly.  Hope that's not the case here, but if the grease does not work out, worth looking into.  There's a servicing TSB for the sensor, which tends to be a short-term fix, and even replacing the sensor isn't that great of a fix.

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!
