A two bar is good for 29.xxx psi correct? What's the point to change to a 3 bar on the SHO? Pretty sure these tunes are not doubling the stock boost.. Correct me if I am wrong.

Regardless of boost the 3BAR and tune mods make a better performing car due to more incremental adjustments to the ECU.  2BAR can only read 14.7 psi boost and most people actually cruise at 10-12, but if there is a spike like going WOT the 3Bar can read it and the ECU can use it.  Had mine about a year and love it compared to the 2BAR. The small turbos we have can't generate more than 18-20 psi.

Why can a 2 bar map only read 1 bar worth of psi? 1 bar is 14.5psi

The terms "2 bar" and "3 bar" refer to absolute pressure.  When we talk about boost we talk about pressure over and above atmospheric pressure, which is defined as 1 bar or 14.7 psi.  So a 2 bar sensor can sense 1 bar worth of BOOST (14.7), and a 3 bar can sense 2 bars worth of BOOST (29.4 psi).

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

My brother has a 15' ecoboost mustang. He said on a 3rd gear pull he can hit 20lbs of boost with a stock tune. They have a 2.5bar map

Not the same engine as the SHO, do you know if it is the same turbo?

Yes I know it's a 2.3 single turbo. I highly doubt it's the same turbo. I would imagine it's a little bigger.

I have the MDesign and agree with the sensor issue - mine actually frickin fell out when mounted on the side of the intake tube!!!  The solution was simple though - just rotated the CAI so the rubber grommet hole is directly on top and sensor drops straight down.

I just went to Home Depot and bought a tighter grommet on Ahmad's (MDesign's) pre-emptive advise. He changed it for the second and third versions... Either way it's a non-issue as long as the sensor connecting wires will reach it.
