HPFP upgrade

Did anyone here reach out to Autotech about our HPFP as far as getting it upgraded or should I say them building upgraded guts? I emailed them today and they said they have one on order, but it hasn't come in yet. They make upgraded guts for Audi/VW and Mazdaspeed HPFP. If they do make something, they are very well respected in their respective communities for pumps.

I reached out to everyone last year, hopefully they are interested now. I also hope they've ordered one for the truck and the transverse cars, different animals!

Yeah I don't know which one they ordered actually. They didn't specify in the email.

It would be nice to have some support in this area since that's where we'll all be stuck unless we go aux fuel.

I agree it would be nice however no one has really tapped out the fuel yet to know when we'll need it. I would think most people will never need it and that's why there is such limited support. I'm at 425/520 with pretty much every available performance upgrade and still have plenty of fuel

Can you do a WOT pull with no meth injection and log it and throw it up here? I'd live to look at that

Yeah...as soon as I get the car on the road..we're not using methanol as fuel right now though..Dan is dead against it..I know we can make more power if we start doing that

Just FYI this is a response I got from Livernois concerning fueling on the SHO/Flex fueling. I emailed them after we discussed it via PM. I thought it was weird that you were indicating that there was fuel but every tuner I know that is tuning the trucks and cars is saying with mild mods we're out of fuel.

Unfortunately we do not offer any E85 calibration support. Also, the fuel system is at the safe max level out on these cars at the cai/downpipe/exhaust level with our tune, after this methanol is required due to the fuel system not being able to keep up with the demands, so E85 would likely be at the limit of the fuel system at stock or slightly higher power levels.

I agree with the E85 fuel might be an issue and I've stated that previously. I know Andy quite well and I'm not sure why he's the one that responded to that email. I only go by what Dan says..it's his programming..and I'm not sure why he wouldn't be honest with me when it comes to that..it's no benefit to him. I suggested adding more methanol and he said we don't need it. It took some time to figure out the fuel tables..I know that for sure

EcoPowerParts

I don't know, maybe Chris can chime in on it. Maybe there's another table only Livernois can get to with their tuner. If that's the case I would try it so that I could run more fuel through DI and less through the aux fuel system.

Yeah, I dont know...I wish I knew more. Tuners are always a little secretive which I completely understand but, sometimes I wish I knew more..always want to know more, more , MORE!

Lms has always claimed there were more tables in the mycal than that of the sct, and why they switched.  Dan refused to make a tune on sct for my truck.  Never said what it was though.

Id love, love, love to see a track pass datalog of darreli's car...

I'll post some datalogs up...wont be without methanol though...just for safety purposes. I'm not saying it doesnt help with detonation control and stuff..just dont think that its augmenting my fuel quite yet

I do remember when 1st-Sho and Darrell's cars had the turbos upgraded and Dan struggled with get there cars to make more power.
As everything he tried proved unsuccessful.
I do remember him saying the car had fail safes, that limited the amount of power it could make, and him saying no one would ever figure be able to figure it out.
But I got the impression he got some inside help from someone at ford to get around these fail safes.

HPFP upgrades at least the ones I've seen for the MS6 only help to keep the pressure high under WOT when the stock internals start dropping due to an inability to keep up with demand. I'm not sure that just upgrading the internals to keep the pressure up is going to do anything if high pressure alone is not the issue. I'm definitely just thinking out loud and do not claim to know exactly how it all works. But to me it seems that if it's purely a volume issue, water/methanol, straight methanol, E85, auxiliary or the combination might be the only thing we can do to overcome the fueling hurdle. I think I'm going to email Torrie to see where he stands on the fueling questions we have, since we got Livernois' take on the issue.
