Bad Tuner, Hating Back to Stock

I had my XSport going in for service and when switching back to stock tune, my LMS MyCal tuner kept timing out in the middle of writing and would lock up the vehicle. I was starting to get worried... took about 6 tries to get it back to factory settings. I tried updating the tuner again after the service and going back to my 93 Performance tune, but had the same issue, about 6 tries just to get it back to factory settings again. Seems my tuner is bad and should receive my replacement tomorrow.

Missing the custom tune, the stock tune really bites!!!

Bad hardware happens sometimes, glad a) you got it back to stock, and b) they're taking care of you with the new tuner!

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

Thanks. Yeah, Anthony has been very helpful over at LMS.

I'm very much looking forward to getting my LMS tune loaded back in. Great performance with it.

After driving tuned for so long it is hard to remember that at one point I was impressed enough by the stock tune to buy the sport because stock really is the pits lol

Going back to stock, you really notice the difference. Hesitation, slow to finding the right gear, and beating the hell out of it more just trying to get some decent performance out of it.

Everybody needs to get their ecoboost tuned!!! They don't know what they're missing... lol

I feel your pain, I bought a new car and I feel like I downgraded, LOL.

I know it is temporary but it still really sucks.

It's tough... I know from recent experience..

Then again...It's sometimes hard to appreciate what we have as it gets to be the day to day way...  When i was back stock for the dealer to replace my LPFP I gained a new appreciation for my tune and fell in love all over again!

I will be honest, when I detuned the 13, it was quite a shock.

We should all be grateful for our respective tuners talents with this platform.

They make these cars damn near supercar levels in a safe manner.

Agreed, having gone to stock a couple times has really helped me to appreciate my tune and rekindle my love for my ride
