Yes, it's rare and I looked all over the country last fall for this GEM! I finally got some information from Ford on the numbers on the 2013's from FPP customer service. My VIN ends with 00002, which I hope is what I think it means, #2 of 382 or #2 off the line. 

2013 Taurus AWD SHO 7,482 out of that body style:
7,482 came with 6-Speed Auto Transmission.
382 came with Green Gem Metallic exterior paint color.
7,482 came with a 3.5L V6 EcoBoost Engine.
2,965 came with the SHO Performance Package with Alcant Steering Wheel.
5,426 came with the Voice Activated Navigation System.
6,356 came with the Power Moon Roof.
3,297 came with the Multi-Contoured Seats.
7,105 came with the rapid spec 402A.

I'm intrigued... Could you be a little more specific on how you got the production data for your '13 SHO?  I've been trying to get this for over a year.  TIA

Ford Customer Service provided this via the Ford Taurus Forum. The Rep's name is Deysha. I had asked if they had production numbers figured out yet, and that my VIN ends in 00002. I wanted to know how many exactly like mine are out there, and if the 00002 means what i think it does... they provided what i shared.

Deysha seems to be on top of her Customer care game too!
