That would work but he shouldn't have to, especially after asking the people that tuned it...I'd be highly pissed off if I asked them a question and I got their vague reply that said that's not too far off when they could've just said the number

Its always helpful and beneficial to have a vendor like LME to chime in once in a while to assist any issues or concerns someone is having.

Problem though is they chimed in and gave a terrible answer that did really help out their customer...then they wanted to point how far off I was when I never gave a guess. All I said is that the fans should come on higher than the stat rating which is what they said after I did...so basically in short words livernois said the same thing as me but was salty about it and wanted to try and say how far off I was lol

Moem... to avoid you being distracted by all our speculation... speak directly with LME and consider getting your information so that no one is speculating...

ANYHOO, getting back to brass tacks, the radiator is the first line of defense, then the fans (passive then active), as it should be.  By opening the TStat earlier, you let the passive cooling take over earlier, which would be more important the "hotter" the tune.  On the Edge, there is a thermal bypass valve that controls when trans fluid flows into the cooler, and it opens around 176F (normal operating temp for the 6F50).  The Edge's OEM thermostat doesn't start opening till 187F and is fully open at 205F.  Thus only engine cooling would be achieved below the 176F mark with a 160F or 170F TStat.

Is it the same setup for the SHO/Flex/XS?  Then it would make sense for the fans to come on around 180F, regardless of the cooler TStat temp (160/170).

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

Shodded I agree with everything you said except for the last sentence.

If you have a stock stat then having the fans come on at 180 is pointless and possibly detrimental. Once warmed up, the fan would never shut off. The Stat will prevent the coolant from flowing until it opens which would be above 180. So the the fans will be trying to achieve a temp that the Stat won't allow....It may help out the trans temp slightly as the fans being on will help cool what fluid is in the rad, but at what cost? The fans running non stop, I wouldn't want that

Correct, I should have added the "cooler" word in that sentence, so I will edit it.
