So random commercial on TV for coverage on mechanical parts..
http://www.endurancewarranty.com/auto Seemed interesting. Did a little research and it's a top notch company. Had to shoot them a request to check cost of coverage...
For my 2010 SHO they said the best coverage would cover for 5 years and 100k miles on top of the current mileage (so I'm 69k miles, they'll cover til 169k). It covers everything mechanical like engine/transmission/transfer case/turbos etc. You pay about $2500 total (112/mo for 24 months, or shorter plans if wanted for more a month) and then you have the coverage paid for and are good to go for the whole 5 years up to $12,000 of charges. Seems pretty enticing. Not to mention you can easily transfer the coverage to a new vehicle if you trade, cancel and get a refund, or sell the car with the extended warranty.
Anyone heard of this before? Good/bad? Like I said, I couldn't find a bad review on them.. They did ask if there was any modifications done and I mentioned exhaust/cold air intake/tune.. He didn't seem too concerned about it.. Very nice friendly guy too. Just getting to the point where I'm almost to 70k miles and driving 20k/yr and it's seeming like a decent idea... If my transmission goes out it already pays for itself.. Would definitely be cool if it works with mods as well, even though it's counter-intuitive and probably isn't "accepted" in the fine print. Just doesn't seem like something they'd check personally. Doubt they'd be checking for a tune on the engine if the transfer case/ptu goes out.. That seems like a factory/ford warranty thing only. Just my 2 cents.
