Hey guys!
What's up? Long time no talk...
LAst time, I had changed my 2013 Taurus SHO for a 2010 BMW 750i xdrive... Big mistake... 15K$ loss later in just three months, I decided to sell that car. The problem with these big cars is that nobody buys them. Only rich people, présidents of companies rent them at 2,000$ per month and after 4 years, they give back the keys. So, they don't care about maintenance or pampering their car during those 4 years and it is the next buyer (that's me in that case) that ends up with all the problems.
I needed to have an injector replaced, front light replaced, battery replaced... The starter wasn't working that well neither. Anyways, I have been used with new cars, so I am back with peace of mind. I received my new car last Friday. I needed more space in the trunk (oh yeah, another thing with the bimmer, the rear seats didn't fold), less space in the car. I wanted a sport ride, but practical for the family at the same time. I always loved wagons and needed one comfy, sporty, AWD and «affordable».
My choice: the new 2015.5 Volvo V60 Rdesign. 6L, 3.0l, turbocharged, 325hp/354lbs, 0-60 in 5.0 sec flat, 1/4 mile in 13.5 sec. stock... I like!
I took it rebel blue! and will have side scuff plates installed later this week.
I just love how the car drives. First time in many years that I drive a car that is not obese ; )
Beside the color, I believe it fits within the sleepers criteria that I appreciate like many of you Ecoboost owners.
I still own the Explorer Sport 2014 and love it... I won't modify it... Been there, done that and I enjoy being able not to be worried if a parts break, if the dealer will be able to pass it under warranty or not ; )
Pictures to come eventually once side scuff plates installed.
Until then , cheers guys!
Steve

Awesome choice man.  they are really nice cars. And the new ones have a smooth power train. The good news is you can tune them using polestar. And keep the factory warranty .  Get us them photos

Seeing a lot of 10K mile certified 2014 SHOs for $30-32K.  Best deal out there by far, IMO.

^^ Been looking myself for one of my Business Partner who currently who has a  bone stock a 2010 Candy red. I am getting that car for my son soon , and he is looking for a 2013+ black SHO to replace it.  Prices seem good right now for sure.

And congrats on the Volvo - love the color you got too - kinda like the wrap on your 2010, no?

My family just got rid of the 2004 volvo v70r. Was a great machine with lots of power, but after 60k miles it just started falling apart and needed lots of replacements parts like shocks and dampeners.
Enjoy your new volvo and post a pic

Man, I was close to picking up a gently used, loaded CPO S60 T6R before I decided on the SHO. Sweet cars. Still like them. But I was proposed with paying 10K more for a car which really didn't seem to offer much more than the Ford.
The Volvos are sweet. It's definitely a more premium car than a Ford. Sometimes wish I'd just paid it for a more premium, more exclusive car.

Ford is offering 6k off the sticker for new SHO's.  If you price on on ford's site they give you a boat load of incentives. Fully loaded SHO is only 41k.
13' SHO, Non-PP, Tuned by Torrie, Meth injection, 3 bar, 170* stat, custom axle back exhaust, Prosport Boost gauge.
15' F150 Lariat Sport, all the options, 3.5L Eco. (fiancée ride.)
13' GTCS, will be missed.

Hey steve! Good to hear from you. Yeah I don't understand why people buy these used BMW's, Audi's. These cars are insanely complex, and ridiculously expensive to repair or maintain. My friend has foreign car garage and some the hoops you have to jump thru to just change a battery is ridiculous. Good luck with the Volvo it's probably a lot like the Taurus. As the Taurus was built on a Volvo platform.

Hello Steve! Let me know if you track the Volvo at Napierville sometime after winter. I could join you with either the SHO or the WRX. As for the custom SHO exhaust you sold me late 2014, it's still in my garage, awaiting an opportunity to get on the car. Welcome back!

Ouch. Them big fancy German cars are so nice until you find out what the cost of parts are.  Well I hope that the Volvo treats you much better than the Beemer.

From what I understood, the Rdesign already is the tuned version of the regular T6. From 300hp/325lbs, it's now 325hp/354lbs. I have the Polestar badge on the rear. However, there is also a Polestar version. None were available for rent. That one has 345hp/369lbs, brembo brakes, sportier suspension, 20'' wheels. It is a beast with a factory (guaranteed) 0-60mph in about 4.5 sec.! That said, I will contact Polestar to see if they offer tuning on top of what came factory with my car and see if I could get that 345hp/360lbs... I don't mind that much about the brakes, they are already pretty good and the suspension is already firm enough.
