3/4 tank of E85

So the wife takes the SHO for errands last night, that's cool.
Driving to work this morning and I feel the car bogging down bad.
So I call my wife from work and tells me, you use the yellow gas right!

So what do I do now? I drove home going super slow and made it without any problems.
Should I drain the tank or just roll with it and try to dilute the E85 every chance I get?

Are you data logging at all? I've been over 50 percent and all was fine. You will definitely have fuel pressure issues and you will probably throw a code but if you are very easy on it you will probably be ok. I would be dumping on high quality 93 every chance possible.

if you take it in to the d-ship you may run into future issues via your warranty so that would be the last option is suggest.

id love to see your fuel trims, lol....

No data logging yea definitely not going to the dealership w/this issue. I think dilution is the only solution, like you said. I never would have noticed if didn't mash the petal this morning.
Fuel pressure issues for sure. Is this damaging the fuel pumps at all?

IDK about the pump but I can tell you that boost plus low fuel pressure could equal KABOOM!

The PCM's are very robust however and self preservation is JOB NO 1.

I can tell you they are very quick and effective when bad things happen.

If you can drain 2/3 - 3/4 of the tank, that is the best option.  Otherwise, as FoMoCoSHO said ...

Personally would be going to a local mechanic  (close one) and seeing which fuel line we could pop off and drain that thing.

AGREED,grab a couple of five gallon gas containers and drain her.

Nothing wrong with the car, just top if off with 91 octane. Don't (you can't really) go WOT, also cold start will be horrible but you'll get by.
I can tell you from experience that if you try to go WOT with straight E85 with stock fuel system it will close the throttle due to lack of fuel pressure.
If you want to drain the fuel, there's a schrader valve on the low pressure fuel line, just attach a line there with car running and put the open end into a gas can.

Just so you are aware...

Ecopowerparts and FoMoCoSHO are probably the most experienced with the e/85. So their advice and knowledge should be the best.

Way easier to use schraeder valve
Just drive it for a bit and keep topping it off with the highest available octane and you'll be fine.

Agreed,hope he knows exactly where in the engine bay its located,maybe someone can post a pic of the exact location for him,its by the side of the throttle body.

Id just drive it carefully and keep topping it off with regular fuel. Extra use of the remote start or idle time is a good way to waste fuel. Which in your case right now would be good.

I tried to go look for the schrader valve, but the freezing rain convinced me otherwise. I am going to top her off first thing on the way to work and putt around and see what happens. thanks for the help when in need.
